We're heading out there Thursday. Going to probably put together a run to Topock or Havasu Springs on Friday like I used to do every year. We're staying at the Nautical.

Going to plan on coming out Thursday night...

That'll be a rough ride. Friday might be okay if the rest of the world doesn't take off work to get on the lake and there isn't any wind at all. Still quite a ways in a 21 with no trim and I'm assuming low free board.

If you're adventurous go for it but plan and prepare and bring kidney belts. Or just ride with someone else.

I think in May on a Fri you will be alright, may be a little rough but if we can run an 18'r to Havasu Springs on Fathers Day a 21 would be like a yacht.[emoji1]

Thanks it's the first time up there with this boat but it does have trim and high freeboard

You should be fine both locations have gas as well to top off. I'm in!

Yeah it's about 30 miles and there are gas pumps if you need.

I'll planning on doing the run in my 21 Stealth jet on Friday. So I'm hoping we'll be ok. I'm thinking Topac on Friday.

Topic is the better bet in the smaller rigs as its all River after you get out of the basin.

Yes I used to go either way when I had my 21' Jet. No Problem at all as long as the wind cooperates. The Topock run is a piece of cake once you cross the main lake basin. That stretch of water is where a jet boat is at home!

I will miss the run on Friday:grumble:, but looking forward to making a run to the springs maybe Saturday. Sunday I plan to run up to Pirates. May even do that Saturday too.

Somebody want to put my boat in the water on Friday afternoon and park it in the cove for me so I don't have to do it at like 1:00 in the morning

Chris, You can make it. I have taken my 21XS jet boat from the Islander to The Springs and to Topoc several times. Once you get past the wide section of the lake (going south) or onto the river (going north) the ride quality really improves.

I have taken my grandparents on these rides and they didn't complain.

As far as fuel, I have a 502 and can make it there and back no problem with fuel left over.

Will there be any type of Events? Poker run? Dinner? Photos? Shirts?

Helicopter? I'd like to get a better aerial picture. That boxpix.com helicopter snapped me in Havasu last summer, but the pictures were garbage and very over priced.

So long shot is anyone with a 26-28 shadow going to be at this event that would give my wife and me a ride would love to take a ride in a big ultra

I'm sure Shippinguy would be happy to take you guys out. I warn you from personal experience, once you take that test ride all kinds of crazy new boat buying schemes will start popping in your head

I have never attended a regatta. I have a 27 shadow, sounds like fun. Do you need to sign up or something, or just show up to a large group of Ultras hanging around. It would be cool to meet some RDP people.

We will make a good run....not a problem!

Mike if you serious about Friday give me a call and I will drop you in the water Friday. Better yet leave the boat at AJs and I will use it for the day Make sure its full of gas !! Oh yea and if you don't mind throw some beer in a cooler also.

Rusty is doing an official Ultra regatta, so i'm sure the details and sign ups, and schedule will be out soon.
