Transformation: 36' Daytona Coupe to 36' Speedster

This is going to be a fun one to follow...:thumbup:

The Custom Shop Team at Eliminator Boats will be changing the face and profile of this 36' Hardtop Coupe into a 36' Speedster...

Boat is being stripped down then positioned to start the process:

Beautiful boat...you should def. be proud of this one. I'm gonna mount the engine bay graphics on my office walls...
JJ's got this runnin' over 147 with some tweaking and shaving...:yikes

Is he interested in selling the glass roof? I have a 36 coupe without the glass t-top.

Work continues...what a thankless, dirty, itchy job...these guys are pros at it though...:thumbup:

After 4wks of non-stop prep work, the gel process has started...:thumbup:
From a rendering, they will mask off the layers, pins, etc. then it's into the booth.

Final Rendering...

Should be ready for gel my Monday...these craftsmen continue to amaze...

I met a guy staying at the islander right now that owns one in Canada rigged with teague power, killer boats that's for sure.

Re-Gel all this week...:thumbsup

Boat came out of the booth today...still more detail to go, but the base scheme is set...

Getting down to the details...hand sand it down, fix the pins and other details, the polish it out and send to rigging...:cool

Dave Barr laying down the silver lettering with a quill.Seriously talented dude right there.

I've had the experience of working in here on new builds while this 36 facelift has been going on.The amount of physical labor involved warps the mind.To give some of you an idea,I believe we are working on pushing 2 or even 3 new builds through the glass shop before this unit is fully complete.
The amount of sanding alone...:yikes Weeks.

Mid day today they were putting a buffer to it and the hatch is in the paint shop a pinstripe away from starting yet more sanding.

Boat looks great!! You need to sell him that matching deck boat in the room next to it . A lot of work there that's for sure!!

Coming together...target delivery date Memorial Day wknd...:thumbup: Of course, there's 4 other jobs with the same due date...:eek

Hey Gary, I saw this boat yesterday and didn't realize it was originally a coupe. I guess some people have money to burn like the guy (Former Angel) that now owns that blue open bow up front. It's amazing the talent you guys have in your shop...

You can see by the date we started this thread, it's taken awhile...at least one guy on it daily for just about the entire time.
Many days full 8 hrs with two...I've been around for 8 years and continue to drop my jaw and what they can do with gel...:yikes
