How big of garage are you gong with? I want a 2K double RV garage added but have to wait for a few things to occur for me first.
Just over 1,400 sq ft. As I mentioned in another thread, our lot is a strange shape, so we are trying to maximize every possible inch..
Yesterday they completed re-routing the water main.
Today, they will begin grading and digging the footings.
Awesome! Is Charlie doing this work? Did he give you a timeline to get it done? You'll probably be down with that before we're done with the houses [emoji15]
Give me a call so we don't forget to put in a conduit for speakers and TV [emoji106][emoji106]
I would run power in conduit in the slab too. It's easy to throw it in now and will make wiring it later a breeze
Looks good, l will be following your progress. Are you putting in a loo and shower facilities maybe also a small kitchenette.
Looking good Scouter....those workers have no faces...:rolleyes
Do you see your neighbor Clint very often
Very cool, Scouter. I hope you told them to introduce any future snakes to the business end of a shovel....
very nice. Couple ?'s
1. How deep you going.
2. How high will the door be 12' or 14' .
3. 6" on the concrete floor
We are just starting our process for a 35 ' deep x 50' Wide. We thought about doing a steel building ,but might be now going to stick built ? Decissions decision.
Great thread , will be following very closely
Garage floor is done..... Workers showed up a little before 6 this morning, first truck showed up about 6:15. Three trucks total. Pour done by about 7:30, and the workers spent the next 4 hours screeding and smoothing. Looks really good.....

Looks killer!
You guys going to do epoxy on this one too?
Looks great John. Looking forward to seeing it live and in person...
Good move to do it when none of us clowns are around. We would have written you love notes in the wet concrete j/k
can you explain the rebar thing to me..i thought it had to be put on the little blocks so its in the middle of the pour not on the ground?
Hey Scouter, what are the short concrete walls called and what is their purpose?
Those are called "strong walls". they are the base of the walls to the entry doors. There will be more hardware bolted to them during framing and I will get pictures. It's all part of the new requirements by Yuma County for building codes.
Each of those 4 walls has 2 bolts that are set in the concrete all the way down to the bottom of the footings. Each bolt is 5 feet long, and probably 1 1/4 in diameter.
Our current garage doesn't have these, as it was built before the new requirements. Our neighbor's RV garage does have it though. Once done, you won't be able to tell they are there as they will be stucco'd along with the rest of the garage..
Scouter, I don't remember if you said but is this at Fishers or in Yuma?
I love the custom painted guest cottage in the background. I wonder if I can talk my parents into that.
I can't tell from the pictures Scouter but are they both separate garages with a solid wall in between?

One garage is for my Advantage is the other is for scouter's Advantage
Only if I can use yours...... [emoji14]
