i am getting ready to refresh my 500, and want to pick everyone's brain a little. i would like to get up around 600 hp. Ideas?
Heads, Cam, and intake/EFI change and you'll be close. Try B&D on here.

Brian at B&d has my 500 and is building it to 650hp. When it comes to these motors he has them down. [emoji106]
I'm also gonna be ready for a refresh as soon as summer is over. I have the same 500efi with 240hours and 140 of those hours with the whipple. It's been super reliable and want to keep it that way. Everyone I've talked to recommends upgrading to aluminum heads. Teague wants $12k to rebuild plus another $3k for the aluminum head upgrade. I know Teague motors are top notch but I'd like to talk to a couple other good marine engine builders before I decide who I want to do the work. So I'll stay posted as I'm in a similar boat

B&D in El Monte?
can you give me some idea of cost?
You would have to call him. We are doing a bunch more than just the motor with him. As well as doing a lot of upgrades.
what all are you doing...just curious?
