Doesn't look like any of the Magics I've ever seen.

Especially the 34 Sorcerer, which was originally called the Magnum. It isn't a 39' VooDoo either, as both models had an integral swim step.

Almost looks like a hallet deck with the way the windscreen swoops back and then pushes out at the engine bay.

Not a bad looking boat and a decent price regardless.

Looks a lot like the original "Rock Hard" that used to be one of the original iconic Havasu boats from back in the day.
To me it looks like the smaller Apache, especially w/the bolted on swim step.
That deck looks just like the Active Thunder 37's.
Didn't the original owner of Magic powerboats buy a mold from the Don Aranow<(sp). estate?

Nah, Rock Hard was the classic rounded style Magic. If agree it really looks like an Active Thunder cap. Or Hallet

Back in the early 80's Hallett built a handful of 30' called the "Offshore".

This is the one that was for sale out in Hesperia a few years ago... Very similar to the "Magic" in Des Moines.

Would be willing to bet if you asked the seller what the first 3 letters of the HIN were, he'd say B-A-R.

This is the second Rock Hard (39'er) the original was a 34'. Personally I always liked the look of the 34' better. My dads friend originally owned the 34' with the ribbon graphics. They won the 1993 Catalina Ski Race with Lee Squire. I always liked that boat Even had a couple rides in it over the years.

The Rock Hard Magic sure looks like a hull that was pulled from the original Aronow molds from Miami. Those hulls used to be called the Alpha and I think they made a 39 and 45. The 45 looked like a sliver because I think it only had an 8' beam. Beautiful boats with some mysterious history to go with them. ;)

Isn't that one the first? The second one was the newer more rounded style magic with more purple and better graphics. Came out around 96

No, the 34' was the rounder styled one. It was definitely 1993 when Leroy Schneider was pulling Kirk Book, and they were racing neck and neck with Lee who was behind "Impaction" the ribbon graphic boat. Leroy bought the 39' a couple years later. I have the old Powerboat magazines in my garage I will try to dig them up this weekend. Powerboat used to have good coverage of the race with great pictures.

I have a pic in 97 from a hot boat regatta at the nautical and the purple and grey rounder rock hard was there. That bad boy rock hard looks OOOOOOOOOLD LOL.

Yea, that's why I liked the 34's better. A lot smother and cleaner looking to me.

Yea man, so I'm confused, you're saying the bad boy one is the second? Sorry? A few cocktails down.
You said the bad boy rock hard was the second. So was there three?? The roundish grey and purple one was the last right ?

The one in the picture in this thread is the 39' Voo Doo model, and is actually named "Rock Harder" (because it was the second one). The inset skier picture is of Carlo Cassa whom Leroy pulled after kirk Book died. They all looked like that. The rounder designed "Rock Hard" was a 34' sorcerer. The design of the 34' was smoother, cleaner, and came out before the 39' boats (pictured).

The pics aren't that great, but its the best I can do from work tonight.
