I love my 2013 Daytona Carbon Kevlar. It is rigged with twin 300xs. It runs right up to 110 mph with little effort, above that you really need to be ahead of the boat, things start feeling squirly to me, I also don't have remote water pickup, so I loose pressure above 110 mph. I know Wallner had his 22 Daytona to 116 or 118 and he could run it wide open for many, many miles. The Daytona accelerates hard from 50-100 and no hop to deal with.

I love my Daytona. The 25' Motion was a better rough water boat, it could not run between 60-90, it was okay below, but much better above 90----.

The Daytona goes perfect for the kind of boating I do.

Try a 21 Skater or 21 Trick or Extreme....all splashes from the Skater 21. Very efficient true tunnel boat with single outboard power. High freeboard and loves choppy water...I have driven them in big lakes and driven off of the coast of Sarasota ...long boat key. The boat seemed to run almost as nice as my F26..with more slot car feel. With a 280 or 300 they will run right between 95-100 lightly loaded...

I love this boat......it had a Sold tag last time I was there though didnt it?

Yes, both of the 22' Daytonas at the factory are customer boats. Both are headed to the Ivory Coast, Abadjan.
What interesting these two will be the first Merc inboards in their country, according to the customer. It's been all wackers previously.

We have 2-3 more customers ready to commit to new 22' Daytona builds that will start in the fall.
Daytonababe may be on that list one day...:D

I keep telling Bob we need one for a chase boat at Photo Shoots :D
You come down for Monster Bash and we'll take a run up the Gorge in one :cool

How's the 22 ride compared to a 25. I love the way my 99 25 rides, but I don't know how that compares to a new 22.
I really like the idea of a 22 deck I'm hoping you guys do one before I'm ready to buy.

The 25' is a solid ride in all conditions ... the 22' fits that smaller boat niche quite well ... I've never been in a 22' so I'm anxious to finish those two new ones and get some on-the-water experience :thumbsup

I've talked to everyone around the shop ... the tooling required for a 22' deck would be big $$$, but doable ...
Not much build-cost difference between the two ... it would be "tiny" up front though ...

This is still my all time fav ... do this with a 26' Daytona, 20" between the canopies (vs 13" on a 27')
Yep, a 26' Fundeck ... :p

This orange boat is actually a 27' Daytona built for a customer ... we have done a few.
The walk-off front-end is pricey to do ... but very functional.

The 26' D & 27' D share the same bottom ... hang a coupla 300's off the back and you've got a great river/lake package ...

Here's the 27' w/Twins we did last year ... it's actually for sale around $180k ...

Like I've said, every boat starts life as a Closed Bow. Cut this open, add the walk-off ... FUNDECK !!

Two lounge style seats up front and a walk through would be good enough for a 22'.

The only thing I don't like about the open bow on my 25 is trying to see over peoples heads. Well that and its not brand new with more hp.

Our buddy F14 has a 22 Talon with a new 588" n/a motor that is fantastic. Zero porpoise at any speed in any water, turns fantastic and handles chop/wakes like a MUCH bigger boat. The cockpit and back seat are fairly small so 4 adults would probably be max but he doesn't like hauling a bunch of peeps anyhow.

I've been studying this topic for quite a while.

Probably a skater type bottom. Ie no center pod.

For center pods, probably the newer eliminator 22 Daytona, as it's a cut down 25 Daytona.

After that I believe a Cougar 22 MTR. They have a little deeper tunnel and more freeboard than the older 22 Daytona or a 22 DCB

Hard to find an affordable newer Daytona . I looked for a long time for an MTR and finally found one. It was worth the wait. The ones built in salmon arm, bc were very well built and rigged.

my trick was horrible compaired to the stoker.... and bullhead BULLIES 22' eliminator was the best I ever rode in........if that help...
