I have that one.. Seems good. I don't know what "euro styling" is though.

There are quite a few good ones. Main thing is to check swim step clearance. Quite a few setups I have worked on you can't run a cap style. Just the tube style.

The TCM drive shower works good. Dumps water directly on the bearing in the top cap. My dad hung off the back of the boat once while moving and was shocked at how much water it was dumping on the drive.

I initially bought a top cap shower, but didnt clear the swim step.

I bought one made by Skimrek, very very simple installation and works good.

Clears my swim step

I have the Simrek as well, works great. Not sure about fitting around your steering Zig.

I also have a Teague shower. I don't think the top portion matters as much as the scoop. Easy, clean install with countersunk bolts. All stainless. Image1462248177.236992.jpg Image1462248199.640566.jpg

I had this one on my magic and it clogged all the time, wasn't a fan.

I'd look at the one from Max Machine Worx or Teague.
How do you know if it clogs?

I'm an outboard guy so I have a couple questions.....

What if you're running a high x dimension and the cav plate isn't in the water? Does the prop wash really produce enough volume and pressure to make a difference? How do you test if it's really cooling the drive?

It would push out the o-ring seal on the top cap. Then upon inspection you could see all the holes clogged. I would have to clean it a few times per season.

Another vote for Simrek. I liked their "keep it simple stupid" approach to things and while they might not look as cool or Kustom as all the other showers, they do what they're supposed to.

So I put on a Simrek drive shower. Main reason is it showers top and sides of drive AND it's a no drill installation.
Called them to make sure fit was ok with imco steering.
He placed my ordered and shipped out.
When it arrived there was a personalized letter from Chuck with instructions, customer service right there [emoji106] [emoji106]
Install literally took me 2 minutes. One top cap bolt and the two nuts on the lift rams. Pickups are positioned to prevent any cavitation.
Clean and simple.
Me likey.[emoji106] [emoji106]

That's the one I have in my Howard! I love it. That thing drowns the drive with water. Just look at the pickup, they're deep in the water and angled for any trim position. My neighbor has them cap style on his 25' Daytona, stock bravo one with 496 and the cap looks great but the side of the drive is all chalky. Good choice.

Simrek test results have something like a 60 degree cooler oil temp with their showers.

Same one I have too. Honestly, going from an outboard to I/O, I had no idea what the drive shower was for.

I've always wondered why Mercruiser doesn't install these from the factory? If drive heating was really an issue I would think they would know about it.

that particular one was purchased as no others would clear the step.

Figured that. There is maybe an inch between the step and the top of the drive.

Gauge is at almost 270 hours now, maybe more.....I forget.

I don't think it's really an issue for them to meet and exceed their warranty. if your running stock power and use the boat for recreational pleasure Mercury doesn't have an issue. We all have performance boats and were river racers running harder than intended. We add large props, computer upgrades, superchargers and prolonged runtimes at higher speeds. We're just trying to extend our abuse cycle.
