I'm hosting a bilge skim coating party tonight at my shop.
Festivities begin @ 6pm central time. If you happen to be in central wi, you are more than welcome to attend. Byob, be prepared for tom foolery, and perhaps some shenanigans.

Believe it or not I have worked from much much worse.:eek

Actually I like drawings like that vs some computer rendering.
I have WAY more Liberty with a sketch.

How often does a boat Pop out and the customer says I don't like it/change it? Do you reshoot out of the mold or just start over?

Is that before or after you knock their teeth down their throat? If after going through a rendering and all that bullshit, they didn't like it, I'd dig a hole in the desert and let the coyotes have 'em.

1 coat of marglass per side. It'll take 2 more before it's ready to sand. I'm filling in the gaps of where it's tabbed, as it's a very crude transition.

My interior is filthy from all the grinding and sanding. It'll wash off. The polyurea I sprayed in it last year is bullet proof. It doesn't scratch, scuff, it's chemical resistant like crazy. Acids, bases, oils, solvents, nothing will touch it. I'll hit it with the pressure washer and it'll be good as new.

Depends on the customer.Seen them reshot, seen them just start a new boat, seen them get their deposit check handed back to them and told to have a nice life.
Seen one who hated the boat when it came out,so a new one was built.
Customer came back to see boat #2 progress, and then fell in love with the one they rejected.:yikes
That one was funny,as the reject had been sold while #2 was in the mold. The customer wanted the reject back and threw a fit they couldn't have it.
Some folks,no matter how hard you try you can not make happy.:rolleyes

As long as it's boat related, I don't care what gets posted man. I liked seeing ponchos boat, I'd really like to see some pics of whatever tank is running. Just no political bullshit.

So today, my buddy the painter came back with all his goodies. We dry sanded with 1200, I'm wet sanding with 1500,then 3000, he's chasing me around the boat with his buffer. Looking awesome. The small amount of orange peel that was in the clear is completely gone. 1465059494553-530308953.jpg

Replacing the flat head phillips screws with some button head allens. I don't like the look or function on phillips. 14650687952012117201358.jpg

Started getting the bilge coated with a polyaspartic. Better chemical, fuel,uv, scratch resistant than any epoxy.
It'll take a couple coats, but 20oz covered this much. I have a gallon.

Not to threadjack but man I wish I could do that with mine, I !@#$% hate my graphics...boat was a really good deal is why I bought it.....exciting time for you. :thumbsup

Hi Kenny! Hey, the Baja is looking good. :thumbsup I like the graphics. How are you liking the boat? Get any good runs in with it yet?

I think I may have told you but I bought a new 25 Outlaw 497HO boat back in 2006. It was a nice boat. That should be a perfect boat for where you are.

How's the Canyon running?

Sorry for the hijack, Headless Hula. :)

Any work done to the motor?

No. I haven't pulled the trigger on the mefiburn yet.
Otherwise it's the same as it was when we spoke last fall.
How's yours been running?

Hey Chili Man,

Boat is running good, not as fast as I was hoping, hit 60 yesterday with 5 people and full fuel....just enjoying exploring the area and learning my way around.

I sure like the graphics on yours a lot more than mine.:thumbsup

Canyon is bad ass, took it to Virginia last weekend for a gathering and had the time of my life. Tony said my boat with the power it has now should get into the 8's, I have the prop out for mag check and balance, have a small vibration.....taking my time it can get squirrely real easy and I have nothing to prove.

Cut Hass Stepp loose in it, he's a jet boat guy and it was his first time in a flat, he said it was a blast.

Hope all is well for you, sure enjoyed your visit here.

Still runs great. Just put another 10-12 hours on it, 3 tanks of gas and about 300 miles a few days ago. I was able to play with the tune a little as well much to the delight of the family:D

Do you have the Vortec heads? Looks like a 96 with the serpentine belt.

The front dress is from a 1999.
Yes those are vortec's
The intake is from a towsport setup. Black scorpion.
355 (.030)
Hypereutectic pistons
Compucam 2032 roller
1.6 roller rockers
1 piece pushrods
Cast crank
Without accessories it made 390 hp 420 torque.
Dyno headers, and only turning the water pump.
For the hot muggy crap we had the operator used a 5% correction factor.

Dash holes drilled, wrapped the dash with white carbon fiber vinyl. Easier than painting it.

Also installed the new rubrail. Works great to put the insert into a bucket of HOT water. Used a window screen tool to run the insert in. Worked like a hot damn. Got the snaps back on for the cockpit cover.

Here's what I've got done on the dash so far.
I got tired of laying under it, so I worked on the transom for a while.

Mocked up the exhaust as much as I could.
I have a set of emi thunder on order. The steering is blocking the path to go in line with the exhaust manifold on the right side. All clear on the left. Guess I'll have to go wider. Bummer that full hydraulic is so damn expensive. If I went that route, I could go narrower.

So today, I'm fabricobbling a throttle bracket together. I had to install the new shifter to get the cables routed. The emi exhaust I'm using doesn't have provisions for mounting anything to the risers. I'll take a picture when it's done. For now, I'm waiting for veggies and some chicken to come off the weber. Hope all you guys are enjoying your holiday weekend.

Well, throttle bracket has been completed. I need to get some shorter bolts. Why is it when you need an 1 1/4" all you have is 1" and 1 1/2"? Oh well, what's another trip to town. And yea, other than a couple nice welding machines, I made this with cordless drill and a 4" angle grinder. I'm not fortunate enough to have a drill press or a mill. Someday... so, anyway, go easy on my crude fabrication skills...
