Chrome Shop - SoCal ??

We have some alloy trailer rims that need to be chromed.

Whose your choice for this?

There used to be some shops over in Pomona I used to use. There's another in Holt near Valley Trailer in Ontario. I know that's not too close to the shop but it's a start.

I used to use a shop in Rialto that did a great job. MJB plating. They did all the chrome on these pumps

Tj. Chrome in cal is not a easy business

X2 on MJB, they do great work. They are river people also. Ask For Bill Felts.

X3 on MJB. When I used to wrench on motorcycles, I'd take a ton of frames, parts, bolts, nuts etc to them and the shit always came out great

Where or who in TJ? I've heard that thrown around but nobody ever comes up with shops/name or true experience. I'm in SD and have lots of bright work to be done on my '42.

I've used OC Plating several times and have been very satisfied.

I build show cars and bikes on the side and have been using New Year Plating for years now with great success. There are a few of us that only use him now. They are in Santa Ana off of Dyer and the 55. 714-371-0703. They do chrome, polish, powdercoat etc.

OC Plating is also good but their prices are pretty high (in comparison) and their turn around is longer.

Low riders used to give lots on business to Anaheim plating. The work I've seen looked good and priced very well. This was years ago... Don't know how true this still holds.

Really want the TJ hookup!

That's what our guy does. He has polishing/repair in a building we rent to him down the street, then sends it out for plating. Great work and did all the garnish in my fordor for $400. Before that I used Verne's, but the last time I talked to Bob he said that the EPA regs were making it too expensive for him to plate anymore. They were always expensive, but good, now it's worth sending parts out of the state for plating.

Universal Metal Plating in Irwindale is the plating shop we use for restorations. They are full service platers, in that they actually have the bubbling tanks on site.

This car is an example of the work they do..

This one is not mine, this is one we built for a customer. This car is seriously better than it came off the line, probably the best one of these I have ever driven.. It really is a brand new 1967 car, with a lot more care on assembly then they received in the factory..
