This 290 as equipped will run approximately 80 mph

Im suprised the 520 has such a boring exhaust. CMIs would dress up that engine bay really nice.

Pretty sure the 520 is the performance bargain in the Mercury lineup. What most people are doing is buying the 540 and then installing cmi's and a tune and making the same power or more as a 565 and saving a chunk.

Price would be a lot higher with cmi's included

Im sure u are 100% right. The 525 was replaced by this new 520 and i can't say ive ever seen a 525 without cmi or cmi type headers.

Checked it out today. Looks clean. 520 is a value. The manifolds look fine as well.

The 540 has CMI exhaust. What I've heard is if you buy a 520, add CMI exhaust, you have a 540.

I agree again..same motor one 540 with CMI headers and the 520 has cast iron exhaust..

No cats on the exhaust?

Low 70's with the 520. 77-78 with the 540. Low 80's with the 600.

Water tested this boat today. All of the tech and everything said in the review is true. The bottom design rides and drives solid. Acceleration is really good all the way through, but exceptional in the midrange.

The 520 really surprised us. It has the power and sound of the 525. The DTS is very smooth, and the vessel view is pretty bitchin as well.

Saw this boat on the 15 north today. Great looking boat.
