I am new to boating and I am sure this has been covered a hundred times, but what does everyone prefer for a boat wax or is a good quality car wax good? I have some good products as I have always detailed my own cars and some of the products I have are specific for the harder german clear coats. I just got this boat and it is generally in really good shape but it has an issue on the back where it looks like a white buoy rubbed on it for a long time. Before I buy anything I tried some of my 3M rubbing compound as the area was not even close to flat and I have had good luck getting black very smooth with this product.

After 3 or 4 passes it finally took most of it down but wet sanding may of been a better choice.

Used these products for harder clear coats and this wax is very hard. What is everyone's choice for boat wax?

Turned out pretty good but not perfect.

Also, the paint on the back is stained pretty good with exhaust. Probably try some clay bar to see if it pulls it up, if not anyone have a suggestion or just a normal cleaner wax?
Thanks

Got that side done and it turned out pretty good. Think I will try some of the products from Ducky and see how they work on the boat.

Very cool. Are you using your hand or a buffer?

A regular orbital buffer. Took quite a few passes without a wool pad but a foam cutting pad did the trick. My last pass I used Adam's buttery wax mixed with Adam's polish and it came out pretty shiny and smooth.
