This thing is continuing to grow. They issued evacuation notices for Bee Rock road area about an hour ago.

I have good friends that have a place at the end of Bee Rock road. REALLY hoping they get a handle on this thing QUICK!!

Yeah. Bee Rock is along the north shore of the lake off Interlake road. It goes from Interlake road to the north shore of Naci.

So far there hasn't been any additional structure damage. It's been all vegetation.

Old man lives in a camper no structures on his property. Have not talked to him in a few years. He might be clear still. I think Branson Hesperia is close to him. I think it is Rattlesnake rd he is off of of Interstate rd.

This fire is RELENTLESS!!! It's now really starting to circle the lake. Interlake road is a hard closure at Lake Nacimiento road (just north of the dam) and all communities east to Northshore Boat & Ski club are under MANDATORY evacuations (the ski club is my buddy's next door neighbor).

Just text to ask about a ranch on Antonio and they are in route to try and save there horses. Fuck this fire has moved some distance. One of the Waitress at my breakfast spot has a house threatened now as well.

I'm actually working down south around Burbank all this week and my girlfriend and daughters are here too. I'm really glad they aren't there. The smoke is REALLY bad in heritage today.

This is from the roof of the Oak Hill Market at Heritage today. Screenshot_20160822-232252.png

Fire is now larger than the now-contained Blue cut fire at 37,101 acres and still only 35% contained. As of last night it had burned right up to the gate of Oak Shores.

Shit, the way this thing is going, it almost seems like it is going to try to wrap around the lake and threaten Heritage then.

came across this on my FB page.
Have to scroll down just a bit to see the Rangers video of the narrows on the 20th.

Damn! That's what they were doing when they hauled ass past us when we were in the boat watching the DC-10's drop retardant. With the smoke and the scattered flames, the whole area looks like a warzone. It's kinda weird cause the spots I've seen of it, there isn't a "line" of fire persay that you see on the TV. It's just scattered about everywhere.

This evenings update....43,633 acres & 39% contained. Looks like they are really starting to get it contained. The North East front is pretty quiet now. There's still some active flame on the very northern edge and the western edge.

I had to do a double check to make sure I was reading that username right. Lol!! It was. Take a look at the video a few posts eariler. That was the narrows last Saturday.

They're saying it should be damn near out within a week and be lifting all evacuation orders in the next couple of days.

Let me know when you come up for Labor Day. You bringing your daughter?

This morning's update...... 45,008 acres and 47% contained. Very little growth yesterday evening and last night.

Here is this mornings fire map. Looks like they have a well established containment line all along the East side of the fire now.

I was just up there with the family a few weeks ago.
It was beautiful!

At the Swamp John cove near Cal Shasta, My friend and his family lost a boat, 4 travel trailers, a jeep and numerous ATVs etc...
He got his gang out in time!

At least they can pull water from the lake. But the wind could still screw things up at Hearst and Oak Shores!

This morning's update.... no acreage growth overnight! Still at 45,008 acres and 51%

There was a firefigher support rally this morning in town people lined up along 24th and other places along Nacimiento Lake Dr. Reportedly there were hundreds of people waving, and cheering the firefights during the morning shift change. It's a very cool sight to see.

So just as the Chimney fire is being wrapped up (85% containment and just over 46k acres) and all evacuation orders were lifted Monday evening, ANOTHER fire breaks out in the area. This time along Nacimiento Lake Dr. in the same area as another small fire we had at the beginning of summer broke out. It's only less than 20 acres at this time and there is already plenty of fire personnel and equipment in the area to jump on this immediately but it is in EXTREMELY dense fuel and is East of the lake. Probably will have to leave work early to get home since Nacimiento Lake Dr is already closed so I'll have to go up to Julon Rd north of San Miguel to get home.

No way all 3 of these fires in this area this year have been accidental.

Damn, not another one :yikes Would sure seem to be arson, they finally convicted a guy here in inland San Diego of five arson fires. They claim they had evidence of at least 8, over the past few years.
They were all set when he left a couple of the local area Indian casinos. He lose, get pissed and start a fire while driving home.
They finally got him using game cameras positioned on the various casino access roads, essentially the only evidence they had. They were able to correlate the timing of a pic of his car with the start of a new fire.

Hope they knock this one down quick :thumbsup

Yeah, 3 fires so close in time anden proximity really raises questions. They determined the Chimney fire was accidental. Just not sure the precise cause yet.

Just got word this one is pretty much already out. Huge advantage of it being right along the main road and a lot of equipment and personnel already in the immediate vicinity.
