Pete Got the bottom painted! Pete did a great job. He may have a little more prep on the epoxy wood areas, but I think for the most part, Pete's scope of work is complete and its Billy B's time to shine.
I do have to say... Pete and Shorty Giroux have been a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them. Great experience.

When Billy received the boat he did an overall inspection to see what he was getting into. As he was inspecting, he noticed that some of the epoxy paint on the floor was starting to egg shell. Instead of him starting to prep and paint the exterior of the boat, he wanted to address the interior issues first. The solution he came up with was pretty badass. Custom colored Truck bed Lining! Although this is obviously not how they did it back then... I needed to do something that would essentially last forever and protect the wood floor from moisture as best as possible. So Billy found a guy in HavAzoooo that accepted the challenge and from the pictures I am very happy with the turn out.

Andrew, I just came across a few pics I think could give some ideas, this was the last wood decker that Ken Myers did, I believe it's a 58' Patterson, I have not seen this boat anyplace since it left B&K, I believe it had a 331 Hemi going in to it.

My brother has his ideas already all drawn up. You guys are in for a cool little surprise when her skin is all wrapped up!

:champagne:... No other way to name a boat that came back from the dead than on Halloween. Bob Thompson killed it.

I came up with the name "Blood Line" to show respect for my family members, boat builders, boat racers and boat enthusiast that came before me and have led the lifestyle that it has become today.

Bob's on fire!

Blood Line.....Don't forget, it's also going to be the oldest Schiada on the water! (I don't think there is one currently older running?)

Andrew, here are some shots of the rigging I promised you, the boat had bench seats and a mid deck all its life up thru mid 2000 so all this rigging is original to the boat and its looked pretty much the same since 65, the only change is the addition of the drive shaft tube and alternator placement.

Good day starting the rigging. Greg will post the pics

Most of the rigging will be installed with carriage bolts. That's how this boat was rigged. Going to be bitchen

She's gorgeous in person. Everyone has done an outstanding job getting her to this point!

Saturday I left LA at 6am, got to BILLY B's at 10... yes i was excited to see the boat and speeding. I hung for about 45 min with B and then headed back to LA with the boat. Got back around 5-6ish... long damn day.

Billy B did a great job. He was always surprising me with picture updates through his process and keeping me in the loop. This was my first experience working with him and he deffinently lived up to his reputation of high quality work. Cheers to you bud.

Today... Andrew, papa, the dogs and I went to the shop all day going through the old parts and cleaning them up. They have been sitting for 50 something years in a field so the parts are a little rough looking, but they should clean up nice.

Got the strut, VDrive and motor mounts all mocked up.

Yes the VDrive mounts are ugly... but the front bench will cover the entire unit.

On Xmas eve, Andrew and I traced out and cut the motor mount for the bellhouseing side, then threw it on with the bell housing, velvet adapter & the velvet drive. We did not install the flywheel or the flex plate yet, but we can continue with the rigging for now.

The Hallibrand V-drive is on my last nerve...
1. Its Ugly... Very ugle. (it will be under the seat, but might as well do it right the first time around)
2. Its a parallel unit, with no degree. So right now the top shaft of the v-drive is the same angle as my prop shaft.
3. I've heard they are very loud.

Solutions...
I am thinking of getting a Casale 12 Degree top loader. This will help a lot with the angle of the drive shaft. Or Maybe just go with a C-500 for practicality.... What is the most angle I could have on my driveshaft (from the Velvet drive to the V-drive).

Anyone have any recommendations?

Looking good Greg!

If you need to borrow a C-500 for mock-up purposes, let me know.
