That fish is considered prehistoric, pretty ugly to look at, but the best eating of all. :)

WTF is that last fish?:yikes And better yet, what lake am I never going to?

Way down deep in the deep blue ocean,
lives a very horny fish,
virgin sturgeon needs no urgin,
thats why caviar is my dish!

Gotta love it when they hit like that:thumbsup

My buddy his dad and I had one of those days south west of Temple Bar marina a few years back.We ran out of stringers and cooler space.
All about the same size as what you have pictured there, but we never hooked a sturgeon? Never knew there were any in there. We did get one fat cat though. He was yummy too.:cool

The sturgeon was caught in Canada, I accidentally attached it to this post.

River Runnin nice catch! Please share the details! :D

I've got the Parker Strip smallmouths down to a science and can put the kiddos on fish each and every trip.

But it may be time to up the ante as they say!

North end of the lake, south end, shallow, deep??? Point me in the right direction.....

If I could launch from Take-off Point, that would be better since we are down on the Strip!

Help a brother out! :D

Where did you get live shad?

I use a 4ft bait casting net. In the coves against the reeds, up Bill Williams, and at night around fishing platforms. I don't know how it works in the summer months, but that's it for winter! :D You can do just about as good with bluegill!...Just make sure your gear is up to a 50-60 pound flattie! :beer

Perfect thank you!!

Reminds me of snook fishing back home! Castnetting pilchards along the beaches, running back "Inside" only to fling them up into the mangroves. ;)

On our way home at night, we used to troll the narrow shallow canals with Rapalas and 50lb gear. We had to wear safety goggles because the fish would hit the lure so hard, it would fly all the way back up into the boat! :D

Thanks again for the tips!

According to the summer edition of the Lake Havasu Living magazine, in 1968 White Sturgeon were stocked in Lake Havasu. To this day no one has caught a sturgeon in Lake Havasu.;)
