All loss of life is a tragedy, but what a blow to the Marlins organization. If there was any such thing as a 23 year old that was a lock for the Hall of Fame if he could just stay on the field, this kid was it. Probably the second best pitcher in baseball behind Kershaw. He had a lot of friends in baseball for such a young kid. I, for one, will miss watching him pitch as I watched nearly all of his starts since he came up four years ago. RIP Jose Fernandez.

Unfortunate tragedy.

I'm not a baseball guy. Can somebody tell my what this is all about? This Johnson guy is all pissed at Fernandez because he watches the ball go out? Why is this a big deal? Why act like a frigging 12 year old because of it?

Some of you know I'm a Coast Guard Helicopter pilot. I was on duty last night and got called at 3am to go search for people from this overturned boat. While in the air we heard it was a Marlins player and when we got back on deck we heard rumors it was Fernandez. Very sad, the guy had an amazing career ahead of him. The Marlins press conference was gut wrenching and the tributes from all sports throughout the day speaks volumes to the guy he was. I didn't know him and I'm not even a Marlins fan, but after seeing him pitch a few times I was a fan of his, secretly hoped the Dodgers would sign him one day.

RIP Jose. Thoughts and prayers are with his family and team.
