Bought a donor xj today.

It's got a rustys short arm kit, also has the slip yoke eliminator.

Runs and drives. Picked it up for 650. :)

Building a jeep is not cheap.
Here is a pic of my jeep I am building. I am about 75% done now just don't have a newer pic on my work computer.

I like the look of the blacked out side markers. I read your posts in one of the other jeep threads. Nice looking ride man!

I'll sheepishly admit, I'm building a mall crawler as well. Lmao....

There's a very limited few places to utilize a full blown crawler around here.

Not sure how old you guys are, I'm 41.

I remember playing with "stomper" trucks in 3rd or 4th grade. Like a matchbox sized 4x4. They ran on a single AA battery. Turn it on, set it loose over whatever stick or mud puddle you could find at recess. Lol..

Reliving my childhood a little with this project I guess. Lol..

I'm going a little different direction engine wise...lol.

This build will make you shake your head. Lololol.
We'll be fooling with it over the winter, and I'll keep this thread updated as it unfolds.

I have one of those stomper trucks somewhere. "Ram wagon" or something.

I've built a lot of Jeep's in the past. My dad still has a few, one is a cj7 with an injected SBC, nv4500/d300, 44's, locked, fully line-x orange, etc.

I think zj/xj/WJ are fantastic cheap platforms to build from. I used a 95 zj for years as a cheap prerunner. It was dang near bulletproof.

Good luck and have fun! It's gonna grow into an expensive slippery slope! I'm fixing to build a light Yota F-toy, tired of breaking $ yukons and stuff in big axles.

LOVED those when I was a kid!! Had a few of them. Lotta fun. They make some sort of new version of them.

Got a link? I might buy a couple for my nephew.
My son's too old. He'll just drive the real one..lol..

I may be in the minority though. Lots of black rims out there.

I've always been a fan of machine finish and polished.

The salt up here just destroys the finish on aluminum, steel, etc.. it really sucks. The clear on these particular wheels has just started to fail. I want to get something done before they get totally ruined. They're only 100 bucks a pop to just replace. It's always the time/money thing. ...

What about plastic dip? Spray it on and if you don't like it peel it off.
