I did not know which section to post this in, so if it needs to be moved please do so. I bought a 1976 22' Hustler Daycruiser to rebuild. I have only been able to find pictures of two others and not much information about the boat. Just wanting to find out all I can about the boat.
Your Hustler was built in Burbank, Ca. In the 1970's, I think they made 2 hulls, your hull 22 ft & 19 ft..
They were built very well! I think the guys that started the Hustler Boat Co. Worked at Spectra Marine also in
Burbank, Ca..

Transom is very similar to Spectra, top deck looks like they built in a toe rail like a flat bottom around the deck or like the Sanger Day Cruisers. is this a full stringer boat or two short stringers for the engine only?
Here are the pictures of interior and from the front of the bottom. Think my biggest question is what kind of handling characteristics can I expect out of this hull. I am planning for a 550-600hp BBC. I have a full droop and diverter for it also.
I really appreciate the replies and info. I live in Oklahoma and finding info around here is really hard. I found old add showing the sizes you spoke of, but not much else.
I know very few of these boats made. So I am assuming that is the reason for the HIN basically being scribed into the hull. I am unable to find a plate anywhere in the boat. Is there a way to do the HIN like I see on other hulls? Or am I going to have to just attach a plate to the rear. Really wanted to find a way to inset in the hull.
I would just have a dog tag made up and attach it to a bulk head, there are tons of boats out there like this. My spectra has no HIN number embossed in the boat nor does my buddies Spectra. Mine had a HIN but when we cut the boat in half off the HIN was cut in half.
