Hi, so I'm going through upgrading the stereo in my new to me 25 Daytona. I'm looking at either the kicker kmc20 head unit or fosgate pmx2 not sure what if any differences there are in the two. Also upgrading the amp to a kxm800.5 to run 4 6x9s 4 6.5s and 2 12" dual VC 2 or 4 ohm (depending on how I wore em) subs which I'm also curious what would be the best way to go with that? And finally the boat has a 2 battery setup but was planning to dedicate one to starter etc and add a 3rd to have 2 for stereo and acc. Any suggestions as to wiring or product choice is appreciated as I'm new to the powerboat thing and also have not purchased anything yet

That's a lot of speakers for one amp. If you are looking at kicker I'd go with the new 800.8 for the 6x9s and 6.5 and a 400.2 with their KM10 if you like moderate bass. If you want a lot of bass go with the 1200.1 and the Solobaric 12's.

I just now saw they make that 800.8 amp. But yeah I'm not too into having extreme bass. I already have 2 alpine type S 12s but I was thinking I could do without one of em to put less stress on the amp as I'd like to get away with one amp if I could without having overload issues or get the 800.5 and a 400.4 ya know?

Totally understand. The 800.5 and 400.4 would be a good combo as well. You could always start with just the 800.5 and see how it goes, then add the 400.4 if you notice the stereo being stressed or overloaded.

That's exactly what I'm thinking I'm gonna do. But then I think if I do the fosgate pmx2 head unit it's not a dual zone unit so I'd be limited on tuning two amps? Vs the kmc20 is dual zone?
