There was a post on the APBA website saying this event was cancelled, anyone know if that is true?

Every year this race gets cancelled, seems like it falls apart with the Indians at the last minute each year.

These races haven't happened for awhile.. Looks like this year is a go. Just looked at the APBA website, didn't see anything about it being cancelled, and the Copper Cup was cancelled so turn out for Havasu is supposed to be up. The Indians seem to be putting a lot of effort into it this year.

Last year we were asked to put on the races with little more than a months advance notice. Not enough time to put it together. We began the planning process in October, and we are a go. Last year had nothing to do with the Tribe, it was my call.

We are full speed ahead and are excited to host this event at the Resort. We hope this is the first of many more events in the future

Come on over an enjoy the races.

How were the races?

RD

The Landing hosted a nice event, complete with band and bonfire. They even had swag bags for the competitors.

The wind shortened the race day Saturday, and so racing started early Sunday to be able to complete all of the events. Many of the racers commented that the water was the roughest they had raced in. I crewed for the Reiter boat, learned a few things about little whackers including backing a big truck with an "invisible" boat behind it, and holding the boat for the start, the idea of which has always scared me.

Races at Bluewater this weekend, the boat spent the week here to save towing back and forth to CA an extra time.
