This Friday May 19 we are taking my entire staff out to New Life Marina on the west end of Bethel Island to the floating cabins for Fri-Sun work retreat. I'm going to take a few of them from Benicia out under the Golden Gate, past Alcatraz and under the Bay Bridge then work our way out to Bethel Island. On Saturday we are going to load up a few boats and take the staff to Rio Vista, Walnut Grove, then back down to Bethel Island. We are going to bbq on Fri and Sat night if anyone wants to stop by, feel free. Hope to see some of you on the water this weekend.

Here's one for you V-Fossils...
Don't push it in water,
that has a slight chop,
or you'll twist it around,
and in the water you'll flop....

The hulls that you run,
need some perfection,
'cuz if it ain't really smooth,
it leans towards ejection....

You beg your wife,
"Let's go to NAPA",
to get some more parts,
'cuz it runs kinda' crappa...

your blown and injected,
but it's no big deal,
Loud isn't fast,
and you ain't for real...

If you run a class,
that's less than Top Fuel,
you're just another chump,
a weak azz tool...

so deflate your chest,
and quit living fibs,
and please pull your V-Fossil,
out of the crib....

I'm ready and waiting,
the Church does have mass,
come out on Sunday,
and I'll kick your .......

08-25-2008,
Let's get on track... Here is the "ONE trick pony"
V-Drive strengths...straight line speed.

V-Drive Weaknesses:

1. No endurance...1320" and the show is over.
2. No cornering ability
3. No reliability.
4. Loud as hell. (we know you THINK thats's cool) brain rattler....
5. No warranty ...you must live at Kragen...
6. No mileage (but you don't run 'em much)
7. No passenger comfort/ not family friendly
8. Lousy handling especially in less than perfect water.
9. Easily swamped.
10. Dangerous to drive due to potential catastrophic mechanical failure/ water conditions.
11. Poor resale / Limited market
12. illegal to run on many lakes due to excessive noise
13. non adjustable propeller angle / porpoises like flipper...
14. Expensive to operate.
15. Owners think their V-Drive "does it all" ..this couldn't be further from the truth.

Show me more strengths...I can't think of any...

I will try to meet up with you on Saturday. How is the water depth going to New Life Marina?

Read a few pages back... We have been reminiscing classic Church moments.

I like the new ride! Conversion is a good thing! If you miss the acceleration, I have what you need...

Perfect day...

Found an old railway tunnel from the gold rush...40 yards long through solid granite rock. My son and a friend had to swim through it!

when Lake Oroville gets lower you might be able to drive boat thru, like a tunnel of love. I did it on lake McClure years ago, unique experience :)

Thanks. I'd love to have that motor but I was thinking maybe a nose cone, flywheel and removing the timing module as baby steps first lol.
Curious as to how much that motor costs though :)

It ain't cheap, but if you want serious power and speed, it is worth it. I was so damn bored with the 300xs, I had to do it. The boat has a whole different feel to it with the extra power. Adding the 15" lower and going center steer, and with no interior to speak of, has made this little tunnel a contender. I also don't like the 2.5 compared to the big 3.0 liter. A wider powerband with way more torque makes for a better ride. Wild Bill got this boat to 114 mph with a 280 2.5.

Check out the prop slip numbers...this thing is a monster.

Saturday June 3 we are going to meet Church Dog (Rayzor) and run our 30 and his "new" to him 28 up to Sacramento. Have lunch at Crawdads or Swabie's. Put the boats away in the covered/secured dock area, check in to Embassy Suites, hit their free bar from 5-7pm then hit old town somewhere for dinner. We will be cruising above our Skater hop 75ish mph if anyone wants to join us. Head back down the river Sunday morning after a lil breakfast. My wife and I will be launching at B&W Resort. Hope to see some of you.

Dale and Bryon brought their 28 Skaters and met my wife, me and a few friends in our 308 Skater. They met us at B&W Resort and we went up past Sacramento and tried to grab lunch at Swabbies but there was no dock space available. RogerThat99 and his wife joined us for lunch. Hit up Embassy Suites for the night and partied down in Old Town. It was 90 miles from B&W on Saturday and 60 miles back yesterday. The guys that launched at Discovery Bay did 200 miles roundtrip. As usual, I didn't get any pics of our boat.

Lil Church Dog passed out after trying to drink with me. Not really fair since I have 100lbs on him.

\NICE:)how was debris in Sacto river?

Almost none from B&W thru Rio Vista then there was some going up the Sac River but not too bad. You still need to pay attention and luckily my wife is awesome at pointing out debris in the water.
