Update! Found and bought back the 21’ cruiser! Scroll down the thread for pics!

Some old pics of Crazy Horse VIP and Copper Canyon back in the day when I was just a wee lad. 1974 Kona 18' bubble deck (the pics in Copper Canyon were earlier before the Bassett headers were installed) and then later the 1976 Kona 21' cruiser. Can't beat that root beer metalflake... IMG_3955.jpg IMG_3953.jpg IMG_3950.jpg IMG_3948.jpg IMG_3952.jpg IMG_3951.jpg IMG_3956.jpg IMG_3958.jpg IMG_3954.jpg IMG_3957.jpg

Nice pics. the lighter color brown was called nutmeg, the darker brown, could have been rootbeer, I think ? I had the same two colors on a Tahiti. guess they all got gell cote from the same supplier ? Funny how Brown was Cool back then but ugly today.

I still think it's cool. The 74 was just brown and "nutmeg" which in the sun was actually a cool deep gold color. The 76 21' cruiser was similar but really had a great sun burst metal flake with the orange and burnt yellow.....and of course lots of wood grain...lol

Cool boats, when i was a kid my dad had an 18' bubble JUST like that, except it was silver and blue flake, and had a 150 merc outboard. That thing looked like a bowling ball

Update!

After years of looking for my childhood cruiser (1977 Kona bought new by Dad) and having zero luck, it randomly gets posted in an FB boat group. The third owner was kind enough to find it in his heart to sell it back to me. Lot of work ahead to really bring it back to life, but I am beyond stoked! “The Hambone Special” is back home!

I had a 77 Kona 18ft Jet. It was a great boat and never once failed us. It had a 455 Olds and B Jet.

cool old pics, I grew up on a 18' Kona bubble that looks like the sister of that brown jet, except it was blue and silver. It had the sickest heavy flake. It was an outboard though, 150 merc straight 6.

I gave a 16 foot Kona to a buddy, he put a 115? Johnrude on it, and used it for a fish killer. Fun times.
