Tensor tires. Radius grind the edges?

Tensor is a popular SxS tire. I really like them.
Word around the RD shop is grind/radius the tread edges to save your CV joints.
Take is it relieves awkward stress on the CV's in certain terrain and maneuvers.

The race desert guys told me this too so I bought the ITP's that came rounded already that they strongly recommended.

Any takes?

I have Tensors. They're a flat tread which is why I like them. But I can see how they are harder on parts because you have more contact patch. They are the only SXS tire I know of that aren't rounded.

GoodYear ATs not holding up in a SxS application.
Sidewall easily fails and you are rolling on metal real quick.
We've been seeing quite a lot of this:

One of the SxS aftermarket shops here said he had to send a truckload of PitBull tires back to Greenball because of failure.

Remembering Greenball was the company that fucked us all when their TowMaster trailer tires have/had and still have tread separation.
Hold that thought.

Are the ITP's DOT approved? I know one of the reasons I am leaning towards Tensors is because they are. I would like the piece of mind cruising the Havasu streets. A buddy of mine bought the Tensors for his new Can Am x3 because they are DOT. He loves them.
