Any preference or info on soft wall vs heavy wall exhaust hose for thru transom exhaust tips? Which hose is better? (DIY'er)

Again farthest thing from an expert, but I can't imagine not running heavy wall exhaust hose. I'm presuming you are running logs (with snails?) with a straight shot out of the transom?

I have the ones with the wire running through them. They're soft, but not super soft. Still kind of a pain in the ass to get on if your tips aren't a straight shot.
