I know my prop is right hand. I know some boats like/run better with left hand props. How would I know if a left hand prop is better for my boat? What is better about it?

It's all about engine rotation. Your drive isn't meant to be run in reverse to go forward.

I guess that's what happens when you cut your teeth on direct drives

Also. On the trs drives, one is weaker than the other. Can never remember which one. It has to do with bearing and shaft placement in the cases.

The counter rotating one is the weaker one. I changed my boat from rotating out to rotating in this off season, should be interesting to see results.

Let me know how it does. I've thought about doing it cause I have a lot of stern lift

From what I recall, a bravo runs just fine in the lefty direction. It loads the top cap more which can make it a little weaker in that direction. I believe most twin bravo boats are set up this way?

Ok. Bravo can go both ways (like some inmates here) would my boat run better or not?
What makes a boat that runs left hand prop better??

Look for same pitch in a left and try it in reverse. If it works better then swap the cable around. Marko did this on his Howard if I recall. MilkMoney new sled has a left hand prop on it as well. I have never tried a left hand.

When I had my Fountain I read that a left hand was a little faster. I read engine torque goes right and prop left balances better?. Never got to try it though.

I always thought the helm wether starboard or port was set to counteract prop torque in a single operation.

I was just out testing with spinning in, not sure I'm a fan, felt pretty weird. Gonna flip it around and test some more.

My carrera spins in right now. I want to try out and see. The biggest thing I am curious about is the dock manners, and if the transom feels lighter out.

Unless set up for circle racing and driven off the balancer end of the crankshaft, all v-drive props are left hand rotation.
