I have a 19ft jet boat, the trailer was previously modified with a rack over the boat to hold jet skis. When they did this they put heavier leaf springs to handle the weight, I have cut the rack off and now my boat bounces a lot. Leaf springs way to stiff now. It is a tandem axle trailer with boat is about 2500 - 3000 lbs.
How do I figure out what size springs to get ?
Is it total of all 4 leafs or each pair ?

Thanks

I would determine the weight of the boat, engine and misc. gear and take that information to a trailer part supply shop. Tell them what you are looking to do and they can help you with getting springs that should be a little softer for you. They should also be able to get you the right length and width springs too. And since you'll have everything apart, please replace all of the mounting hardware while you're at it. Not a lot of money for peace of mind.
