Make: DCB
Name: Point to Point
Model: M31
Power: Mercury Racing 700 SCI X 2 with Whipple SC Stage III Upgrades
Drives: NXT
Props: Herring 5 Blade 37P and 39P (Have used two sets)
Options: Poker Run Interior, Fusion Audio, Garmin GPS 8 in Plotter, Garmin Digital in Headrests, 6 intercoms w/ Bose noise cancelling for driver and co driver, Vessel View 7 for passenger, Rigid LED through out (green / white), Rear camera, front wash down, underwater LED (green), Garmin VIRB action camera integration, Carbon Fiber Aerators, upgraded stereo in panels and sub / amps (JL Audio)
Top Speed: 144 (this is what I had it up to)
Cruising Speed: 110-125 (boat runs well at all speeds)
This boat is unreal. Extremely driver friendly - hence DCB selling these to guys and just turning them loose on the poker run circuit . I really enjoy driving this boat and with the Whipple Upgrades it really made it easier to drive in Havasu heat with more passengers. Boat would plane easy at all times and setup no problem. Extremely docile at slow and mid range speeds / when turning. On acceleration there was never any tentative moments in the power band. For Havasu this is a great Poker Run boat. Even when the water gets cut up the boat never felt out of control or in over its head.
The show. OK - between the MERC package sound - I ran them without mufflers and the gel. You better know how to drive a boat, dock, and navigate the channel in a crowd because you have a crowd of people staring at your every move. The clear engine hatches and flashy white all over the boat - it is a Ferrari on the water.
The wife and boys liked the boat. They are good with the no food, clear liquids only, no sand toys, etc etc on boats like this. If you own a boat like this you better have something else to use on off days. Hour count, entertaining, etc etc this boat is really purpose built. Everytime the boat comes off the water it is a full detail kind of thing. A production - but worth it. Another quick note on actual boat ability - I did not want a ladder - I do not like the way they look and we do not need them - use the tie bar and get on back deck. This boat is for the limber and in shape folks. If you are not mobile you will not be able to get in or out of the boat either bow (over the windshield) or aft up and splitting the engine hatches will be difficult.
Performance
The boat rips - I have posted videos and screen shots verifying GPS speeds. On smaller 37P Herrings in the heat of summer no issues hitting 138 - 139 looking for more prop. These boats are extremely forgiving and a joy to own. The merc package is great - hard to go wrong. I would run 39P props in all poker runs and if I was only going to boat with just wife. It would still plane no issues with 6 adults on 39P but I ran 37P for acceleration dynamics and top speed was fast enough.
Electronics
I upgraded everything on this boat last season and it is on par with all the new boats produced today. Honestly I think it is better because you have both analogue and digital gauges for driver which is nice. Trim settings 0-10 on the older vessel view is also better for those that are used to that range compared to the VS7. You have it all on this boat. The sound system is completely integrated into the GPS plotter for controls. So driver can completely run boat on screen without fumbling for a remote. I also setup the plotter to run the GoPro style cameras. You can turn the cameras on and off. See footage and PoV from the plotter screen. This is really cool and allows you to get footage without a lot of drama. Lighting - I know this contrtoversy is all the rage now. Never had an issue. I put Rigid LED through the whole boat. Both Green and White. They are bright and super high quality.
What did I not like about this boat? Absolutely nothing - it was perfect. I do not attach myself to go fast boats and resources permitting like to trade them out after a couple of season. The new owner is going to have an absolute show piece that performs.
