So after much deliberation with my wife as to what would be the best boat for us and our boys we decided on...gasp...a rollbar...picked it up this afternoon and I have to say it's a truly impressive piece. Well thought out from bow to stern. 20170623_173906.jpg 20170623_173931.jpg 20170623_174019.jpg 84746.jpg 20170623_200412.jpg 84815.jpg

It's 2017, so we are supposed to not question the gender identities of our friends. Even the Pope says so... in that spirit, I support my friends choice of boats.. [emoji51]

Love it Lynch!! They are bad ass party wagons and family boats for sure! The only thing I really don't like about the new ones is the shade keeps getting smaller and smaller. That little black thing supposed to be some kind of cruel joke? LOL

Very cool - you are going to love it and the family will as well. The G series are awesome family boats. Takes a bit to get everything down right and dialed wake wise - congrats :thumbsup

You suck! Oddly enough there is a boat just like that tied up just below Badenochs this morning!

These boats are definitely innovative when it comes to interior design and storage. Looks like this model came with the Coors Light option. BTW, rollers aren't needed when surfing on the river...

Looks good! Family will have a blast on it.

Exhaust is a FAE. (fresh air exhaust) exits below waterline even on plane. Looks a little funky especially on boats with single outlet but it's nice not to smell exhaust fumes while surfing or idling downwind.

How do they ride compared to the older wake and or ski boats? Do they still beat the crap out of you?

Better but nothing like a performance boat. I would not like it as a full time river lake boat.

Is this the equivalent of a dude selling a sick ass bro dozer, or Camero, and getting a dodge caravan?

You can do 40-41 with a full load of people. You can also run a different prop to get a little more mph. But most people want the "hole shot" to be able to lift a rider out of the water easier.

We made the switch over last year and love it....well the kids love it :) I'm still getting used to going 30mph everywhere and my ego still get bruised getting passed by pontoons but the boat is so practical, has tons of room and storage, and I'm kinda getting used to the v-drive thing. Best part is the whole family is skiing, surfing, tubing, etc.... everyday we are out there. So much more family interaction. The reality is I was the only one having fun in the boat over 65mph.

Congrats again,

Chris

lol that's a funny way to put it. I'm sure it's true in my case as well though. I'm the only one having fun over 65 😂

Congrats John.

Your family will make a ton of memories with that boat, and that is what the whole boating deal becomes about when kids come along.
We have looked at newer boats, but our Ski Sanger DLX is still in excellent shape and only has 330 hours on it. At one point Cindy and I were considering selling it and buying a more go-fast type boat, but now the grandkids are reaching the age where I think we will keep it.
Oldest is 9, she is going on training skis this summer, and is already knee boarding, etc.
Won't be long and we will be pulling wakeboards again, and I will agonize about buying a tower, all over again.
The new boats like yours are incredible, a friend has a Sanger 215, I think, and another a Malibu Vdrive. Wakeboard and surf machines, options are like a luxury car.
They ride better than my boat no doubt and the room in them is amazing. Storage unreal.
There are trade offs tho, I console myself with the fact that my direct drive and 4 blade pulling prop will do about 46, and will outhandle and out turn both of those boats.

You still have your hot rod for those times when you feel the need, and I hope you keep it. I wanna bum a ride one of these days.

We looked at them at the LA boat show. Incredible boats inside and out. We had a 2000 Sport Nautique that was a great boat except in chop. Loved everything about it except docking and putting on a trailer in the wind or current. It was more of a get close and pull it on by hand rather than driving it on.
PS. There is no better option in my opinion if you have kids. I couldn't even count the hours pulling tubes with kids flying everywhere. (no ballast included)

I was up at Powell and couldn't believe how big some of them are now. I bet one I saw had 5-6' of freeboard. On Powell I'm sure they can't get to big.
