I am really not a fan of these little miniature BBQ's they have for boats.. I want something that would be the equivalent of a two burner or three burner backyard BBQ. Something that I can cook a decent amount of food on or slow cook etc.

Second thing is I have decided I am not going to put it on a pole mount on the swim step itself.. I'm going to talk to Eric Barker about fabricating up a mount that will go off these bars and put the BBQ out and behind the boat. That way drippings fall into the water and I can continue to have full use of the swim step for tying up etc..

Do they make any actual size bbq's that will run on those camping style propane tanks? Or should I put a 5 lb bottle in the boat and run a propane line out to the BBQ?

Now I have a nice portable that I can put on the beach or table. I got tired of the two that I had that mounted to the rails. I use the small cans of propane which work out great.

Not exactly what your end goal is, but I got a cuisinart bbq you can have if your interested. Has long supply line with adapter for large tank on it. I'll be up next weekend I can drop it off if you want it.

We use this on our pontoon and it works great. Used the same one for years hunting and camping it will cook multiple tritip roasts at the same time. Currently we just put it on shore to cook, but you could easily fab up a mount for what you are thinking. IMG_4772.JPG Add the larger propane tank and you can cook for the entire RDP forum. I wanted that nexgrill so bad but couldn't figure out how to modify it to work on the rail with the limited resources I had. I don't think you'd be happy with the smoke hollow either. It's fairly larger than the other grills and it works for what it is but I think it'll fall short of expectation if your looking to feed 8 or more people.

I envy your swimstep and tow bar. I'd go with something like this

Big Gas 3 Burner Grill Black/red https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00029KWPW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_RJRBzb1BS4Q30

And modify it to where it had mounts on the tow bar but still removable at the base of the grill if needed be. (If that makes sense)
I'd also stick to throwing a 1 gallon tank and calling it a day.

When I was a kid we had a "No kids around the back of the boat" rule. Between some peoples props, other people's o/t exhaust, was just a rule.
But I dig this idea.:thumbsup

So, who wants to be a thousandair? :D

Someone invent a padded underwater prop condom to slip on once parked.
You'll sell at least a dozen I'd think. Run with it.:thumbsup

You're welcome. Don't ever say gelcoater never gave you anything. :cool
