Looks like Rob knows the river pretty good there. I'll have to hit him up if I ever do decide to run that stretch of river again.

Cool vid

that part of the river can be damaging to props and lowers if not careful
to really see the sand and rock bars rent a ski from Rob at low river and scope it out
it would be worth the knowledge

props to the captain for the tour :cool

Would be cool if the rdp show made it up that way to do a little tour. Was pretty fun being behind the casinos

It is cool to cruise by the casinos. The only problem is too many jet skis and most of them are rentals.

I tossed him out of the boat 

I'm glad to see you put the screw driver away for a minute! :D

Thanks for posting up the vids Vic! Hold the phone sideways in the future so it fills up the screen. It's either that or we are all gonna have to start mounting our TV's sideways and computer monitors sideways if we start filming like that. ;) :)

What a great late afternoon cruise. Lately the damn releases have been minimal, we caught five units after five witch is a treat. I'll run in three but the pucker factor is high, five is just fun. At the Davis damn there is a rock bar left side looking at damn (west) other than the forty-five at big bend its pretty smooth sailing.
Yea the numbers of renters on that section of river on weekends is absofucking stupid. This is a big problem in Bullhead, we are a inexpensive vacation, witch tends to bring all. The city is already making all renters watch a nine minute safety video, its actually really good. I personally try my hardest to get the best renters as possible. My new line is "you can't put a battleship in a bathtub" anyhow its probably like the channel you know when its going to be stupid so just stay away. Locals know if you launch on weekends go south and go south fast. RD and I have talked about having a run in jet skis from BHC to maybe pirates /topock. sept march just don't know,it would be a blast and great for your river knowledge. oh yea I almost forgot thanks Justin the 28 bravo is perfect the boat carried it well. We were light on gas and Vic's skinny ass I probably need a better mean. That fucker tried to throw me out of my own boat... have fun be safe Rob

Thanks for posting the vids, I don't recognize much in them but haven't really been there since '72.

I've posted this picture before (sorry) but this is me and my folks, 1961 on the Nevada side with Bullhead across the river in the background. We had a little trailer in Wagon Wheel Trailer park for a little over a decade, left Bullhead and bought in Parker in about '72. There was no Laughlin then or power plant, just miles and miles of flat cool water. Don't know if it's still like this but we use to fish for trout off the dock and have fish fries.

My grandparents moved there in '60 and that's when we started to go to the river. My grandma taught at the local school. There was no high school and my uncle had to go to Kingman for that, had to ride the bus and if he missed it for the ride home he had to make the walk.

Sometimes we'd jump in the boat and go down to Havasu Springs for lunch and then make the run back to Bullhead, rarely any rough water along the way of course there weren't many people going to the river yet and the city of Havasu was almost as small as Bullhead. Needles had the only Hospital around and we had to make 2 trips there during our Bullhead years. the first, my uncle got whiplash falling while skiing and the other was when I got hit by the boat in the picture. My dad was driving, pulling my mom and the steering cable broke just as he came into the cove to drop her off. I was playing on the beach with my cousins and the boat hit me almost dead on but just to the right of the point of the bow a little and threw me about 20 feet into the sand. Cracked my right hip and I remember my nuts swelled up to the size of small oranges. Not a good look for a 8 year old. My uncle had to swim across the river to get help and later he got all his local friends to get our boat off the beach as it was about 30 feet from the water sitting in the toolies.

I can still remember my dad and uncle sitting on the bluff at the Wagon Wheel in the evening and saying ..."why in the hell is Don Laughlin buying all that property over there? This is the side you want to be on!" lol They're both gone now but would have a good laugh at how its grown and how wrong they were.

Cooke purchased a place there in the early 60's. It was walking distance to Lazy Harry's. My wife grew up going there in the later 60's. Lot's of memories....

My grand parents hangouts were the "Double L" and the "Sportsman".

They also built the first home in the Riviera area. We use to shoot rifles off their front porch!

My brother in law bought in Holiday Shores, on Riverfront Rd sometime in early 70's. Riverside casino, the Pioneer and few others were up when I started going in 80's.
