My Ole Lady bought an Instapot (pressure cooker). She kept saying all her friends love them and say how quick and easy it is. I told her not to buy it. She bought it anyways. She hasn't read the instructions, but says it looks complicated (not exactly a Showtime Set It & Forget It Rotisserie. LOL ). I told her to return it.

Has anyone used one, and what did you think of it and the food that came out of it? Thanks.

They are great... rice in 10 minutes, frozen chicken to tacos in 15 minutes... beans from bag to soup in 25... what's not to like?

They've been around forever. Cuts cooking time down and the food come s out good.

I pick my battles and letting her keep it is at least worth a new fishing rod or hand tool to you.;)

We love our instantpot! We have the 6 in 1.

Dude, put some chicken breast in, some sauce of your choice and press poultry. That's it. Come back 15-20 later done. Or set the delay timer and do a manual slow cook (need to purchase glass lid) just like crock pot. Recommend thawing meats but you can put in frozen also and it will automatically adjust the cook time.

Join the instant pot community on FaceBook, they have all kinds of recipes.

Just be careful with the vent, can get dangerous when venting and hot steam comes shooting out.

Uses a little water in the bottom and that keeps the contents MOIST .

DO NOT attempt to "over pressurize" in an attempt to speed the process . (read instructions about adjustable pressure control)

Very good at "quick steam cooking of vegetables" (they don't get mushy) , and using a raised fine mesh grate, will produce the best "blanched seafoods" .
