Coo. We are probably going to beach the houseboat in Halls Creek Bay. Going to have my Flame and a big pontoon. I am sure we will burn to Escalante once or twice. It is just my immediate family and Kenley.
Very nice! We're coming outta bullfrog and plan to stay somewhat close, we're fueling at halls sense we all need premium lol

Looks like it got bad.

Multiple people without power

By: Jamie Brough - Updated: 5 minutes ago

A brief but violent storm on Thursday afternoon has resulted in multiple Page residents without power and left a trail of destruction in its wake.

Branches, dirt and other debris littered streets across Page after gusts knocked over more than a dozen trees in areas throughout the city. One large tree in City Park crushed a picnic table while another damaged a fence near the Desert View Elementary basketball courts. Other downed trees near residences on Date Street, Elm Street and Morgan Road were also spotted.

A private hangar at the Page Municipal Airport was also ripped apart by the gusts, which were reported by the National Weather Service at close to 50 mph. Airport staff told the Chronicle the hangar is privately owned, but was empty at the time of the storm. No aircraft were damaged.

The Chapman Mobile Home Village was most affected by the winds, with multiple homes damaged by debris and fallen trees. As of 3 p.m., many residents reported they were still without power. An Antelope Point Marina representative said the marina had sustained minor damage to part of the docks and was also without power at the time of this writing.

Page Utility Enterprises was unable to comment further at the time due to a full call for service, but we are awaiting an official statement soon.

The National Weather Service early Thursday morning reported strong thunderstorms moving in from the south, and issued flash flood warnings for northern Coconino County. Severe weather warnings remain in effect into the evening.

There are also confirmed reports of serious injuries and capsized boats throughout The Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Glen Canyon Public Information Officer Mary Plumb told The Chronicle that NPS dispatch was inundated with multiple emergency calls at approximately 1 p.m.

One houseboat picked up by the winds and beached on a nearby shore resulted in a 60-year-old woman losing her arm. Another 57-year-old woman sustained head and hip injuries. The two were transported by members of their party back to Wahweap Marina where they were then transported by Park Service to Page Banner Hospital. Multiple area agencies responded to calls across the lake and include the Coconino County Sheriff's Department, Classic Aviation, and Utah State Park officers.

Several other houseboats from Padre Bay to Gunsight capsized or were severely damaged by the winds as well.

Park Service officials have issued an official warning and ask anyone who plans to recreate in Glen Canyon in the coming days to take extra precautions and be aware of all upcoming weather warnings.

Cool event. :thumbsup

JD, my guess is you live in Utah (Mr. Lucky) what town??? That is one amazing state!!!

Every time I've visited Utah over the years while driving home to So. Cal. I always ask myself why??? I did live in Salt Lake and Duck Creek for a short time, when I moved I still ask myself what was I thinking???

Not to hi-jack and actual boating thread (and I dam good one at that!)...

But what was living in Duck Creek like?? I've had my eye on that place for awhile now. Thanks. :)

Loving the pics! Can't wait to see some from the complimentary Boat Bling wipedowns coordinated through Antelope & Prestige Marine crew. Bummed we couldn't make it in person but thankfully we were well represented.

Would have been up there but we had 5 different events all happening at the same time [emoji107]Will plan accordingly next year and be back in 2018.

Interesting to see how the event has evolved over the years. Hopefully it does not lose its appeal to the average boater which IMO made it special and different than the Havasu events. They raised over $250k a couple years ago for the JDRF, hope they beat that figure once the #'s are in.

That's a pretty baller setup! What power does the Hallett have?

Mercury 565 and an SCX with full hydraulic. They blew the Bravo 3 it came with at 40 hours cruising at 40MPH just a couple of months ago. Mercury didn't stand behind it.

PS, shout out to El Guapo, great to meet you!

Yep downloading now. I took about 75GBs of vids. Mike, the owner of the boats, is going to send me some on board footage from the poker run itself as we followed in chase 1, the Hallett 290, for most of the run before we switched off with his kids and wife and finished the run. He had two garmin virb ultra 30s on board the DCB M41 and I had one myself and a Canon Vixia HF G20. Before we finished the run we rafted up and a silver helicopter circled us a few times about 100' off the deck and took some footage so you may see that somehwere but I don't have access to that video.

Yes he did. In a speech he made at the fundraiser he said he was impressed by the whole event and said that the folks at Antelope Point put on a first class poker run.

That dude has written the book on putting on poker runs. There's been many that have and still do put poker runs on but Stu is the only one that has built a successful career that has allowed him to live very comfortably just off of his poker runs. Who invited him out, do you know? Was it Bob? Kinda random for him to show up.

Not sure the spelling of his name but I would guess it was Burl the Antelope marina manager.

Those are friends of my wife, she's known them since she was 13, LDS Church, really sad, 80 year old grandma had to have her arm amputated when the granite top hit her, and the mom broke a hip, pelvis, wrist and broke her cheek bone in her face

Thanks for Sharing, bitchin pics and video.

As I have noticed over the years it's always bigger boats that attend this event, is there a reason, water gets big , need big fuel tanks?????

Big water I would think it was pretty rough out there even in the Hallett 290 I rode in. Of course, the DCB M41 felt great in any condition. It was bitchin.

I was told over 400 this year.. but Ray posted over a half a million!

Mercury 565 and an SCX with full hydraulic. They blew the Bravo 3 it came with at 40 hours cruising at 40MPH just a couple of months ago. Mercury didn't stand behind it.

Not sure how that's possible if it's under warranty?

They are ok, the grandma is in good spirits, the mom had to have surgery on her face where her cheek bone broke, but even though all that they went through are staying positive. They where in this boat, a Adonia, pretty much brand new,,,, so sad for all involved in this storm
