Quick questions to see if anyone can fill me in. This side control will be controlling my velvet drive gear switching from R-N-F.:blah:

This one looks more old school, but what is the difference besides appearance... anything? its another $100 for...?

The brake is just a clamp that adds friction for those systems that need it, like a jet drive.its adjustable so it'll work for you either way. Personally, I'd maybe go with one of the other companies that has the detents for positive shift engagement.

Yah, but I'm trying to keep it as old school as possible. and these morse ones are the oldest styles i know about... that look good.

Do you have a foot throttle too? Reading the details says,

Teleflex STB Control with External Brake

The STB control is economical and durable, with a simple, classic design. Single-function lever moves one cable only. Single function control- each lever controls throttle or shift. The STB control includes a throttle brake and can shift Berkeley or similar type jets when a foot throttle is used. Searching "STB control includes a throttle brake" online brings up many of the same shifter design you linked from EBay some at even a lower cost but unsure about shipping costs, etc..
