I read this in the LA Times, but you can pick any other liberal news source. Sounds like things have been recovering and heading in the right direction for some time.

We'll see if new policy or the Fed reverse the current trend.

but the problem is inflation and cost of living has probably doubled or tripled in the meantime...

Tell that to those getting SSI they haven't got an increase because there is no inflation.
