Hi All,

I'd like to turn some handles on some paddles I already have put together. How would I hold the paddle end in the chuck so I could put the handle on the live center?

Thanks!

Yeap, pictures would be nice.

Put another centerdrill in the opposite end and turn it "between centers" and drive it off a dog or something cobbled onto the lathe chuck.

Drive off a dog...got it.

It's basically a wood raquetball paddle. I either need to do something with them or make a fire...

Thanks!

Yes sir.

A lathe dog.

Do you know the term or are you giving me shit? Sorry I can't tell.

You could also make a receiver of sorts to put in the chuck to hold the opposite end of the handle. Like a soft jaw of sorts, and the tailstock will hold it in. If that makes sense.

Stop by and I can sketch what I am talking about.

I actually have a lathe dog, Just didn't occur to me...

I think the fixture would be more work than this project is worth...

Thanks!
