For Sale -- 1973 Schiada V-Drive 22

1973 22ft Schiada V-drive boat.
I acquired the boat little over a year ago. The engine was rebuilt and everything was service in the winter of 2017. Has a 468 BBC (454 Bored .060 over) that was freshly rebuilt last winter. (Jan 2017) Made 500hp/530ftlbs on the engine dyno on 93 pump gas. Turbo 400, 3speed trans with reverse. Very nice boat for its age. Runs great, sounds great, Gets Lots of looks and compliments. Swim step makes it easy to get in and out of. Flat ski wake. At some point the boat had a massive restoration but had been sitting for a while when I got it. Its been cleaned up a lot and looks nice for its age.

Just don't have the proper places to enjoy the boat around here with mainly small lakes all with speed limits. Looking to move into a wake boat for the family.

What is the plate between the exhaust outlets?

Was it rigged as a jet previously?

I have been asked this a few times, and I guess I should try and find out some how. I have never had the plate off and to my knowledge it has always been a V-drive. Obviously the boat is old and could have been a jet at one time. I just never would have guessed someone would have spent the money or time to re-rig it as a V-Drive.

Or maybe it was formally an I/O??? One easy way to find out would be to count the stringers. From what I understand, v-drives and I/Os were always 4 stringer and jets 2 strtinger. My '77 21 RC jet is a 2 stringer. This is what I've been told on here...I don't claim to be an expert. Cool 22!

Sorry, Serviced in January/February of 2017. That's still winter here in Illinois lol

I have had no luck reaching anyone at Schiada to tell me if the boat was originally built as a V or something else. (The number I can find via Google seems to be busy all the time)

I think the I/O would be taller up the transom.

Willing to sell this thing less the engine if someone is interested that way. Buyer would still get the full drive train, exhaust manifolds, and engine accessory. Anything that is marine related would stay, I would simply pull the engine.

After speaking with some other owners this boat appears it did start life as a Jet. I am ready to move on to my next watercraft though and would like to see this thing go to someone who can enjoy it. Can sell with or without the engine. Can travel some of the distance to help shorten your pickup drive.

Will sell without the engine for $3250. Would leave the trans, v-drive, exhaust manifolds, everything that is water/boat use only would stay.

Spring time Bump

Does it have original gel coat with airbrushing or has the boat been painted?

The airbrush work was definitely done later down the road. I do not know if they entire boat was painted at that time or not.

Still for sale. Had it on the water 4 times this year just to make sure everything was still in working order. Really like to free up the garage space and get this thing moved.
