I have a kenwood KMR-555U head unit in the boat. it's worked great for the last couple years. This weekend it would not connect to my Phone (iphone 6s), through either of the USB ports. Unit said "No Device present" on the front USB port, and kept flashing "Reading" on the rear USB port.

Tried a different cable, didn't work. Voltage is good.

Any Ideas?

I had a Kenwood head unit in my truck and the Bluetooth quit working. Replaced it with a JVC unit. Give that a try lol.

I?d love too.. unfortunately I have 2 remotes, and they only work with the Kenwood systems (I assume)... soooo, I?m kinda stuck.

Give Adam at wired for sound a call. I'm sure he can let you know what the remotes will work with

So I tried resetting it.. no change, tried the wifes phone.. no change, tried a new cable... no change. Also it wont even play the radio now, just the lights come on. I gave up and ordered a new head unit.

wire loom/plug appears to be the same as the old one, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will be easy to change out.

Should be able to slide out the old unit and slide in the new.

The connector position might be a little different on the back of the unit but I think its the same connector.
