I have a couple new projects going on.. I bought synthetic turf and a mount to add a tv to the back porch. First though is the kitchen backsplash. I used travertine to compliment the floors and contrast the counter tops. The tile is laid and awaiting grout.
Before I had a chance to finish the backsplash project, the power went out and I soon discovered that my breaker panel (which was on it's last leg when I bought the house ) decided to call it quits. You can see in the picture where the center bar melted at the breaker conjunction. As a result, the main breaker sustained damage and fell apart in my hand when I removed it. Time for a new panel.. I knew there was damage in the panel when I bought the house (Not sure what caused it - no indications. All the wiring looks good) but never had the time to take care of it. I don't have a choice when the power goes out though. After getting the necessary permit, installing the new equipment, passing city and SRP inspections, and getting the power turned back on, a week had passed.. I'm back in business now though.
This weekend I bought a new internet tv for the bedroom so naturally the old bedroom tv went to the back porch for watching games from the pool! I had to custom build a mount but eventually got it put up so that the tv swivels for viewing from the pool or porch.
I've done lots since my last post so I'm going to catch this up slowly. Mainly I've started remodeling the upstairs bathroom. I'll post the before pics and then the progress pictures. I gutted the bath tub / shower and installed a new tub and plumbing. I also disassembled the cabinet to prepare for paint, took up the old tile and base boards, textured all the walls, painted the walls, and closed in the florescent lighting above the cabinet to prepare for LED lights like I did downstairs.
