I have question for you experts. I've never grilled fish on the Q before, matter of fact I think I've only cooked it once in my life , and that was in the oven.

Is there a secret to keeping the fish together without putting it in a pan ? I like the grill marks , but it started flaking apart when I flipped the salmon.

2nd question. Is this still considered Raw or in cooked ? I had it on the grill for a good while I thought, when I put it on the plate it seemed raw to me , so I threw it in a pan and back on the grill !

Get yourself a meat thermometer and cook salmon to 145. Slightly pink is probably OK.

I do cedar planks on the grill with salmon all the time. Cooks really evenly and pretty hard to overcook.

Hey Hammer you can buy a basket for grilling fish in. You still get the marks but it keeps it all together:thumbsup

I have a standard one, you know mechanical temp gauge on a 6" post that you stick into the meat. I havent needed to use ot on meat and poultry. I will for fish now though.

My first attempt at smoking, well food at least.
Chicken breast wrapped in Applewood bacon and I used apple wood chips for smoking. Turned out pretty good even though I could have taken it off sooner. I'll take it for a first time.
