In a second.

We have to look at Putin objectively and not as a communist country leader. If we were to put Putin into the US and Obama into the USSR at birth, with similar basic personality makeups as far as how they grew into their existing mind sets.

With those basics, we have a leader with insight who has what he feels the best interests of his home country in mind and how it was founded. This being Putin. He is a rough man with a large ego, but he commands respect from his own and his opponents abroad.

Obama on the other hand has poor leadership skills, and hardly any respect from his opponents. He's a divider and the US is either against him in growing numbers, or for him, in dwindling numbers. O goes about his office like someone who is trying to get even with a country and citizens he feels wronged him in life.

Putin outsmarts O at every turn and the image of the US suffers accordingly.

This is a comparison of a Man and a boy. Putin easily could have made it to the top of the US heap. Obama would most likely have never been anything of consequence in Russia but a communist community bumpkin, not even gaining organizer status as the KGB would have slapped him down for being a wimp..

I'd rather have neither, but still can't comprehend how it's the US's problem and liability that somewhere on the otherside of the earth, some little peninsula has democratically decided to change the flag they fly, after the group people who formerly ruled over them were ousted in a coup that they didn't press for.

If the people of Crimea wish to be part of Russia, good for them.

This is about Washington vs Moscow egos, has nothing at all to do with what is in the best interests of any of the people, either here in the States, or over there.

Sounds a bit akin to Teddy Roosevelt, especially in his Rough Rider days.

While Putin has some qualities that I'd want for POTUS, I wouldn't want him as POTUS.
I think he'd take Executive Orders to new heights to further his agenda...and that agenda may or may not be in the best interests of either the country, or the Constitution.

Likewise, I do think Obama has some positive qualities, but I don't like him as POTUS, either.

Putin was a former head of the KGB so he is likely an extremely intelligent individual. Obama also possesses extreme intellect.

As far as picking one over the other, the key thing Putin has that will appeal to the Republican base is that he is white.

They are both enemies of the Republic.

I really get a laugh when libtards describe Obama as "possessed of an extreme intellect".

By who's measure? Anyone know his GPA from Hahvud or any other accomplishments that aren't sealed?

Jiminy Catuh was actually a rocket scientist, also a an epic failure as POTUS.:p

Since when is being a disgrace as a POTUS a "philosophy"?

Fucking joke, THAT'S what the SOB is..a fucking joke. No philosophical musings required.

Might I remind you that in the past 5 years a Presidential candidate, and a VP candidate predicted this situation and were roundly mocked by those who share your "philosophy" that O has a clue in hell.

Read this, moron, and detail how it is wrong.

"Able leaders anticipate events, prepare for them, and act in time to shape them."

"President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton traveled the world in pursuit of their promise to reset relations and to build friendships across the globe. Their failure has been painfully evident: It is hard to name even a single country that has more respect and admiration for America today than when President Obama took office, and now Russia is in Ukraine. Part of their failure, I submit, is due to their failure to act when action was possible, and needed. "

Although it is a Romney "told ya so" piece, it is not invalid "philosophy".

Every post you make is more revealing than the last at just how little you know about ...well...anything.

Likewise, I do think Obama has some positive qualities, but I don't like him as POTUS, either.

Bear in mind that my thoughts about the two were premised by the point they would have been raised in the country opposite of where they were raised in reality. Thus Putin would have been raised with democracy of the Republic instead of the iron rule of a communist state. I'm looking more at how his current personal traits would have fit into his upbringing as such.......No where am I insinuating I'd want him to be the leader of the US with him being raised in Russia/USSR. If he retained his strong persona that he currently possesses, he would easily have the ability to flow to the top.

O on the other hand in no way possesses the inner constitution to move up the chain in the Soviet Union he would have grown up in. Inspite of Brownie's asinine assumptions and blind belief in what the mainstream liberal press would like him to be, O is no where near the intelligence level he's portrayed to possess. His entire educational history is sealed or destroyed. His books have been said to be written by others. Bill Ayers has been recorded on at least 2 known occasions of claiming to have written at least one book. O's law school papers again are not around for public record, if they even still exist and his only real public claim to intelligence is from his loudmouthed wife who is in it for the glory, money, and power of the office.

Putin does have many of TR's traits and likely would be a progressive just like him. For that reason he would not be a good choice to lead the nation. But I still think he's more into serving his country for the good of the country rather than O who just wants his personal flawed philosophy of major change to be enacted in an end justifies his means manner. O is trying hard to get even with a society he feels wronged him. From that standpoint he hates the US for what it is politically and socially and has said as much on public record, inspite of much of the proof being purged from publicly available sources as his handlers clean up after him.

One thing of note is that Putin early in the BHO reign of incompetence, warned the US to not go down the road of European Socialism. For that alone he would actually be better in today's WH than the current fool. Or Hill. Or Kerry. Or how many other fools in high places trying to change the nation to a progressively socialistic state.

well here is my take and mind you I know nothing about politics.

Putin is worth 75 Billion, stolen-drug money- embezzled from the citizens of Russia? who cares! he is worth 75 Billion and peeps don't get that rich by being dumb.
He is ex KGB so you know he don't fuck around and probably has killed a shit ton of people and is not threatened by any other country or anybody for that matter.
he hunts
he fishes
he rides a Harley - sans helmet
he is a pilot
he traded in is older chubby wife for a really young and hot Olympic gymnast
he is a black belt
he likes to shoot machine guns and is a damn good shot
he helps( physically ) conserve endangered animals in his country

basically he is Hemmingway meets chuck Norris.

Obama is worth around 3 mill, seriously he is our leader! RD spends more than that on beer for a holiday weekend!
he smokes newports, so ghetto fab
he plays golf and basketball
he is against guns and really all things manly
he is best friends with a rapper, so nice to think that my tax dollars help to fund fired chicken and waffles for the POTUS and Jay Z
gave us all affordable healthcare :D

I think our commander in chief should be a man's man. someone who would or could kick ass and doesn't take any shit!, he should have been in combat so he knows what the troops he sends all over the world have to go through. our president should be required to have a net worth of damn near a billion or better, like I said rich people didn't get all that money by being stupid. and I would like to think that our leader should be someone that children could look up to and aspire to be like. I am not saying I want my kid to grow up to be like Putin but I think you catch my drift.

If a war were to break out between the USA and Russia, which side would you guys fight for? As a secondary question, which side would you hope wins?

Which would you?

I am a loyal and proud Canadian who believes in my country, despite not being delighted by the current path we are on.

You, on the other hand, don't seem to want to answer the question. I'm beginning to see that the people who crow loudest about being patriots could easily be traitors to their country.

Another mistaken assumption on your part.

My position is, and always has been, that My Country is my everything.

It nurtures me, and provides for me if I nurture it.

Without my Country I am adrift.

What you need to understand (to understand Me) is that O is a greater threat to all that than Putin is.

Subjugation is not my place on this world.

Fighting for O is not fighting for my Country.
Cheering for Putin is not fighting for my Country.

You can state your twisted billshit and pedestrian judgments however you like, just shows how much don't understand about us or our Country.

The thing is Brownie, none of us want a war and our country as a whole needs to stand up and be loud and clear about it.

This whole situation is a complete clusterfuck from a foreign relations standpoint and it's clearly evident the current US leadership "committee" is trying to stare down someone they are utterly overwhelmed by. You can stir the shit kettle and make all the "what if" bullshit statements you want to make, along with flinging insults trying to get a reaction, but the bottom line here is, you're offhandedly defending what is without a doubt the most inept and over their head bunch of idiots this nation has ever been represented by.....

Going to war with one of the earth's super powers because of a real estate struggle in an area whose history alone is enough to see this just an internal "family" conflict, is ridiculously na?ve at best. The past few weeks have already harmed this nation's economy even further as evidenced by the current rise in fuel costs. Obama and his cast of idiots are being laughed at and ignored by Putin. And they are not concerned and/or don't care that their inept reactions are causing these other economic issues.

If their blundering would bring the US into an armed conflict, it would be tragic and in my opinion grounds to forcibly and legally have O, Kerry, and McCain removed from our government. These fools are playing with fire and too arrogantly stupid to know it. They should not be allowed any ability whatsoever to move military assets around as they just may "accidentally" push the wrong button and bring all hell down on the nation. They are playing softball with a hardball professional and way out of their league.

Fortunately for the US, Putin sees them for the blundering stooges they are ,and will be the wise man in this situation to keep a real war from taking place. He doesn't want war and he knows the US doesn't want war......So why can't O and the Idiots stand back and quit slinging threats and drawing lines they will never defend??????? This isn't "rooting" for Putin by any means, this is just common sense ability to see he is the controlling factor ion the situation and the one person who will determine the ultimate outcome. It's readily evident the threats and reactionary lines in the sand they will never defend are jokes to the world.

The Ukraine is Russian. Culturally and beyond. They are at a point hey can't support themselves and their population itself knows they are better of under Russian rule than independent rule. They're all part of a big family that drifts apart and back together since man has walked the planet. If eve there was a region to stay out it's internal affairs, this is that region.

Here's one for ya Brownie......If at some point Quebec finally decided to breakaway from the rest of Canada, will you support Russia or the US coming in and getting involved?

Tom Brown As far as picking one over the other said:
I know that you just love to play with everyone just to see there reactions. I get that, but your comments about Republicans always being racists just gets old after a while. I,'m sure that you won't be changing your ways anytime soon but I felt that I needed to get this off my chest, not that it makes any difference to you at all. I try to not engage over this kind of thing, so I will go back in the corner again and try to keep my thoughts to myself. Carry on with your games Tom...

I don't believe all Republicans are racists. That's why I've never written that. That's why I can be flip about a post like you've just made. You've just made an inappropriate generalization.

You and I are not enemies, Steve. Whatever philosophy you subscribe to, whatever you believe, more power to you. You are helping your country by expressing your views and hopefully, you vote. One of the things I respect about this group, and there are few, is that it is a politically active group. Democracy is about people participating in the process.

The thing is, this thread literally has a bunch of Republican base members who are cheering for the leader of Russia and cheering against the USA. I'm not talking about voting against the president. I'm not talking about a specific issue. I'm talking about basic national loyalty.

I'm shining a light into a pretty dark place. This group seems intent on literally ruining the country, if they can't get their way. That is traitorous activity. Straight up. You want me to play nice? I don't think so. Victims? Nope. Traitors.

Nah, we're just doing the job that the lame stream media refuses to do.

Blackenstein's approval numbers are at an all time low. Not only in the nation, but also amongst Democrats. We were once a voice of the minority, but now we are a voice of the majority and I'm hell bent on needling even the most loyal libtards, that they are on the wrong side of history. Like I said a long time ago, this cocksucker will go down as the worst ever before he's done. If that makes me traitorous, then I wear it as a badge of honor.:finger

Brown doesn't know what "traitor" means.
He has no loyalty despite his crowing about things that are beyond his ability to grasp.
Not his fault, how can he know what a true patriot is? He's been a defacto subject his entire life.

I post this frequently because I have remembered this scene since my childhood.
It, IMO, accurately depicts misguided "Patriotism" in sake of "being right"...

But even the good Col. realizes his mistake in the end, and in his dying breath redeems himself.

It's not too late dems, don't wait to fall on the plunger.

I'm well aware that you're either too stupid to follow a line of thought or you are deliberately obfuscating but voting against the president or speaking out against the president are not traitorous. I never said those activities were traitorous.

Cheering for the Russian president over the USA is traitorous, though. Don't you agree, comrades?

If you like Russia, perhaps you could emigrate. They are anti-gay, pro-Christian, anti-abortion. They seem to be pro education, so that might be a bit of a problem for a couple of you.

Here again is proof you can't read or comprehend. No where did I say annex. I said get involved. In other words Russia or the US sticks their nose into Canadian business. Attempt to destroy revenues of a side they chose to oppose and/or offer munitions in event of a blood revolt. Would you find that acceptable? Nothing to do with occupation even, certainly not annexation.......Got it?

If you read Sun Tzu at all you would know that discounting an opponents qualities in warfare (Which STARTS with negotiating) is a recipe for loss.
Admiring an opponents skills, demeanor, and power is quite necessary if you are to have a chance at all against them, whether at the table or on the field.

When an opponents leader is everything that YOUR "leader" is not, you had better rectify and correct that situation post haste in any way you can, as your leader will cause the death or subjugation of the people he is tasked with leading. There can be no other outcome.
Non- violent speaking to sway an army, or populace, and cause your leader to be ousted or replaced by popular demand is the first option an army, or populace, should pursue.

When this asshat continues to be a weak, unknowledgeable, deservedly disrespected clown to the entire world (in addition to being a constitutional enemy) then it is traitorous to NOT speak out against him.

So what you're saying is the citizens should be loyal to a government official?

I'm not cheering for Putin at all. I'm hoping his wisdom and ability will prevail and he will avoid war. He will continue to see the current US admin's ultimatums and actions as smoke, not fire and ignore them. I'm hoping he is the wise old bear that will brush off being poked in the side by a pesky vermin and not destroy the vermin's entire den and family.

You're preaching that it's wrong to go against a bad leader who endangers his nation. We should blindly follow like the numerous nations who followed dictators? Sorry Brownie, we see the Kenyan Pretender for just what he is and we see how his progressive socialist agenda is toxic to our nation and it's Constitutional rules of government. His skirting those rules is where loyalty isn't being practiced. And the blind intimidated self serving career politicians and bureaucrats who allow this travesty to take place are who you insinuate to be loyal is rubbish.

Loyalty to the USA is nothing remotely close to loyalty to one Barack Hussein Obama. And it should be that way with any elected leader. The office is respected, not necessarily the person elected to it regardless of party.

THIS is traitorous you imbecile.
:p

Look, let me try to help you guys understand. Read slowly.

I understand there are Republican patriots. I'm sure there are lots. There are also Democrats who are patriots, but not all are. I understand there is more than one way to view many topics. What many consider a success, you guys consider a failure. OK. I understand you like to revise history so budgets repeatedly killed by the House of Representatives is 100% Obama's fault. I'm not with you. That's impossible to respect but OK, I guess.

... but there are limits to spin. At some point, you become a traitor. If you find yourself cheering for the Russians over the United States, you may consider yourself a patriot but you are not a patriot in any sense of the word. You are not loyal to your country. That's just how it is.

It's ironic you would question my use of the word traitor. I know what it means and I disregard your redefinition of the word. That's your MO. Blame your opponent for everything you are doing.

None of this is about blindly following, not questioning, how to vote, or any of that bullshit. I think it's great you guys have opinions and questions about the state of your country. Sincerely, good for you. When you cheer against your country, however, you become traitors. Straight up.

Is a patriot someone who is loyal to a flag, or loyal to an idea? There is a difference.

I don't "cheer against my country", but I will say Putin is snubbing his nose at us and making us look foolish.

Read slowly... OBAMA does not represent my Country.

He is the ONLY, I can barely say the word, president that I have EVER disregarded.

This guy goes beyond ANY political or "philosophical" difference of opinion. I can live with and usually enjoy hearing differing opinions... they are how we learn and expand.

O is a weak POS, and is turning this Country into a fiefdom for weak pieces of shit.

But don't worry, Gomer, if this Country survives his rein of ineptness, you will be welcome and free to visit any time you choose.

True patriots are trying to save it for your enjoyment.

I am curious, though.

If you will enlighten me, please tell me in what way Opuke measures up to the leader of our formidable opponent?

Read even more slowly... Yes he does.

Your ability to redefine reality is incomprehensible, to a thinking person. "This wall is 100% black. This wall is 100% white. ... and it's both at the same time."

No, he does not. He has outright lied in nearly every arena of his current position.
He DOES NOT represent what this Country is about AT ALL, or the principles that it was founded on AT ALL.
He has said from the beginning his goal is to change this Country.

Humans make mistakes, leaders make mistakes, every President has made mistakes.
Obama IS A MISTAKE!

You have a lot to learn Gomer, if you ever want to be an American.
But that isn't what you are about.

You will just never get it.

Do you really consider yourself a thinking person?

Maybe you do some thinking now and then...but STRICTLY within the confines of Tom Browns separate reality.

Your opponent, the United States as represented by president Barack Obama, measures up to your comrades in Russia, as represented by Vladimir Putin, in several ways. Both are highly intelligent. I am confident both have calculated this situation extensively.

I don't know if Obama is more or less intelligent than Putin. No idea. I wouldn't expect to win a game of chess with either of them.

Who do you think has put more thought into the current situation in Russia, and the responses offered to putins actions, putin or obama?

Which of these chess players is attacking the board and toying with the other?
Do you REALLY feel that O has a working command of the strategy to face his opponent? Would you put money on it?
("money" is a metaphor for your Country and life)

(i'm sorry you have no confidence in your chess play)

Let's look at it this way Brainiac.....It matters not a flea flying fucking bit who cheers, agrees with, or just sits on their ass and doesn't give a shit. What is happening, is a leader of a world class power is making a complete and utter idiot out of the socalled leader of another world class power.

Matters not what I or anyone else on here feels, it's happening.

What is sad, is there are so many who still think the one being made the idiot, still think he's something special and capable. They will find a way to defend him by blaming his shortcomings on someone else. To make matters worse, he's being backed on the frontlines by the 3 stooges- Biden, Kerry, and McCain. 3 men who have an accumulative total of 60+ years in the Senate. None havethe wits or the understanding to handle foreign affairs in an accomplished manner of say Henry Kissinger or even Madelaine Allbright who had far more sense in this same region than these gumballs. They and "their" leader are getting outwitted at every turn and yet they continue to stand back and throw spitballs at a heavily armed opponent.

All this going on and the main topic O's being recognized for on the nightly news is his fucking NCAA Bracket selections......Talk about fiddling while Rome burns, good grief!

So Brownie, it matters not what our opinions are, it's going to go down as complete mess and no matter how much posturing is done by the 4 fools, Putin and his side will do as they please and suffer no consequences from the west. It's just the way it is.......
