Here is another project you might enjoy we are in the middle of. It's a 1969 Hallett. Originally the pump was all the way in the boat as they used to do it back then. The only thing outside of the transom was the nozzle. The hole in the bottom and transom was filled and then the boat re-painted.

As you will see there was a pretty bad mismatch from the intake to the bottom which required lots of grinding and glassing inside as well as blending on the bottom.

The customer chose to have us spray it with graphite as opposed to gelcoat. This is the finished bottom.

The boat just got back from upholstery and we have about a weeks worth of labor to finish it. This has been a whole restoration so it would be hard to split the costs to certain areas. It is A LOT of work to fill the holes and start fresh if you have the pump installed forward to where the only thing sticking out of the back is the nozzle.
I will upload more pics after the 4th.... I know I keep saying that but we have been slammed all winter and summer so far. Maybe we will get a little breather after the 4th..... actually I hope not!!!:D

Very sore subject with me!!! When the customer had the boat painted he filled the jet hole but left the exhaust holes and holes for the cavitation plates that are no longer on the boat:smackhead
