The engine and outdrive are installed and the guys are taking care of the final touches. Jose finished the wood for the interior and the upholstery should be taking shape toward the end of the week.

Gauges are perfect.

Good call on the carpet color.

I like the clean look of the walk-through alley to the bow (no cutouts on the side panel).

Pics from Friday. New trailer coming together at Shadow Trailers. Also, had a chance to see the steering hub with my Dad's monogram for the first time. It looks sweet!

Awesome boat! I'm working on a 1984 20' Sport Cruiser with a Bravo and probably going with a 454 also. Hopefully someday I'll be able to follow your lead and have the bowrider conversion done on it.

Just spoke with Jose at Eliminator and Bob decided to show the boat at the LA Boat Show this weekend. I can't wait to finally see the finished product. It's going to be a good weekend!

I’m happy for you, your boat came out great!

I love the new interior with old skool exterior; obviously I’m following a similar path, minus all the cool sentimental value yours has.

I wish we could see the look on your face the first time you drive it!!

Looking forward to hearing your report on how it runs.

Thanks HydroSkreamin! I may have to GoPro the first drive :) Also, I will be in St. Paul in August. Maybe I could bum a ride in the StressEliminator!

Original Owner was at the Boat Show Sunday

That's really cool. Thanks Gary. In this picture is obviously Bob Leach, Harvey Hlista (my dad's buddy who he bought the boat from in 1984), me and my son, Robert. We contacted Harvey to let him know about the boat show and he made it out on Sunday. He also brought some really cool pics of the day he bought the boat back on July 28, 1977, photos of its original home up on the Delta, in Discovery Bay, and photos of the trip my family took to pick up the boat.

Day he bought the boat from Eliminator when they were located of the 91 freeway in Anaheim...

On the Delta with his kids Brett and Nicole...If you look closely you can see the original shag carpet:) Also, notice how the scoop came from the factory facing forward. Harvey said he flipped it around because he did not like the look...

These pics are of the trip my family took to pick up the boat...This photo is of me, my sister Kelly, and Harvey's kids Brett and Nicole. Check out our shirts..."Another Shitty day on the Delta!" Seeing as I was only 7 I had no idea what that meant:)

I heard from Jose today and the trailer will be arriving at the shop this afternoon. I am going to head out there later today and I will put up some updated pics...

Looks great! I have a soft spot for the sport cruiser because I have one too!

I am interested to see what if any gains you will get by switching the volvo to a bravo 1.

Hope to see you on the water!

What kind of performance did you see with the 454 and Volvo? Can't wait to see your review on the bravo and upgrades and how it compares to the Volvo.

We ran the boat yesterday and it didn’t disappoint. We hit 63 on the GPS at approx 4500 rpm. Kenny wants to change the prop and he thinks the boat will settle in at 70 mph at 5200 rpm. Can’t wait for the Regata. Here are some pics from yesterday...

Great to hear it's on the water. What kind of HP are you estimating you are making with your 454?

A little update: Last weekend while I was out at the Green Monster doing some final testing before the Notta, I started taking on water. Didn't think it was anything big, until I got home and went to pull the plug. Found a nice size crack forming in one of the areas that was restored on the transom...

IMG_0437.jpg

Here is a pick from the restoration...
IMG_1592.JPG

And this is what I found after our last trip...Zoom in and you will see the crack:mad:
IMG_0438.jpg

Dropped the boat back off at Eliminator and they are back at it. Hopefully, without cracks this time:cool:

Pretty bummed we won't be able to bring the boat out to Havasu this weekend, but that's okay. The room is already paid for at the Nautical and the weather is going to be excellent.

Here’s what it looks like on my end.

Glad you’re able to use your boat relaxing and creating more memories!
