LOL.... Yeah like everything else, I'll probably have to do it twice before I get it right! :rolleyes

I was 50/50 between Poison Spyder and EVO sliders. EVOs are weld on, which is not a big deal, but I like the look of the Poison Spyder ones a lot better. There is also a YouTube where a guy in South County got t-boned hard, flipped the JKU on its side, and Poison Spyder sliders saved it from being crushed in.

The evo stuff is very sturdy....

PS stuff typically looks better and still performs. I have used both sides on a big bolder and there is no doubt there going to last.

    There stupid heavy;)

Thanks to Cole T. for his build - he made me (along with River) spend a boatload of $$ on Poison Spyder stuff! Just got done test fitting all the pieces and de burring some minor rough spots. Now its all loaded in the truck heading to the powder coat shop in the morning!! :D

Who wants to come over Thursday eve and help install the stuff - maybe River will bring his famous nut tool :eek

I have a fresh keg of Shocktop if anyone needs encouragement....

Yes, please do. I really like the look of yours and its pretty close to what I want to build, but Im going white. I am looking at the Teraflex 3", but still doing some homework on what works best for a "weekend warrior" where 95% use will be road driving. I dont want the thing driving down the road like a shopping cart.

TeraFlex makes good stuff. Do it right and do it once.

All 8 arms track bars and quality shocks and you won't have any problems.

You can get the whole rock krawler 3.5 x factor kit with bilsteins for a tad over 2k.

Call Jason at krawl offroad and he will hook you up.

Yeah I was looking at the lift you have and the Teraflex 8 arm with shocks (highly recommended by guys Rebel). Mine will be driven very similar to yours so I want a good "street" driving rig as well as something that performs in the Mts. How do you like the wear and road noise on those toyos, thats the same tire Im looking at as well??? I dont mind a little road noise, but dont want it too obnoxious if I can avoid it.

Rebel loves the TeraFlex....that's probably where they make the biggest margin...lol

I would shop around if you are having it installed.;):)

Call drew at off road evolution and see what he can do. Tell him brandin sent you and ask for the "roar" discount.

People also really like Stan at jpi....

The toyos are awesome...heavy and expensive but they are about as good as it gets.

I also really like the nitto trail grappler. There basically the same tire but a tad lighter. My sister has them on her rubicon

Yeah still looking at all the options, seems like most the lifts are pretty close, just different springs and shocks. Not sure if Im going to install it or just have a shop do it. Seems easy enough, just seems like for the $600/$800 install might just let them dick with it instead of wasting a weekend or so myself. Rebel showed me 3 options and said for the the amount of road driving I will have (primary vehicle) the teraflex 8 arm seemed to make the most sense, but Im sure you are right with them pushing that for $$$. Seems all shops no matter what hobby have a "go to" option that benefits them $$$ wise, hahaha. Thanks for all the info.

I need to updatethis a tad...

I have gotten a fair amount of pm's about my build and figured I would throw upsome new pictures of where it sits today.

Since the last update I have added the following items.

King air Bumps both front and rear (The front are bolt in with some minor cutting but the rear is kind of an ordeal and requires cutting the fram and welding in brackets)

Poison Spyder color matched crusher flares (skinny)

Artec Truss has been welded to the front D44

    Carbon Fiber Rubicon x Hood

    Method wheels

Toyo 37" open country mud terrains

I ended up leasing a chevy volt as my commuter car and now the jeep is just atoy. Since I no longer need to drive it 60 miles a day I figured why notinstall 37" tires....lol

I wanted to keep the jeep low so I knew I would need to add the new fenders tofit the new tires without major rubbage. Since I was getting new tires I shouldjust sell the other package and start fresh. You are getting how this wholejeep deal works. You start with a simple plan and before you know it yourselling kidneys to fund the next upgrade.....Its a sickness.

I drove the jeep to Moab for easter jeep safari (No trailer queen) and took it on most of the hard trails.I didn't do any 9+ trails as I have zero desire to get major body damage or risk a flop. The jeep did great and excelled on all of the hard lines. I made the mistake of taking a hard extra credit line on the last day of the week and broke the rear slip yoke. I should have read the writinng on the wall and quit while I was ahead but I chose to try and gun it up a big rock face. On the top was nothing but sand and when the rear tires got traction it was game over. I travel with a pretty big tool kit and a selection of spare parts including spare 1310 cv's but I didn't expect it to take out the yoke. Needless to say I got extremely lucky that we found a new yoke in town and were able to swap out the broken parts in about 10 minutes. I learned my lesson and now have this peice in my bag and will not try dumb shit the last day with a 800 mile trip in front of me.;):D:skull

I thought this was a cool set of pictures that my wife took. This is kind of a nasty notch that you can opt to run and it is supposed to throw your driver front way up in the air.

This shows you how a 4 door with a good short arm suspension kit will work when compared to a LJ with a long arm kit.

My jeep barely left the ground and this guys jeep looked like it was going to flop. (The pictures dosent show him at full extension)

Brandon has an outstanding rig and he knows what works - not to mention his available knowledge base. He was kind enough to help me install my Poison Spyder rockers. Here is a pic of just ONE obstacle on the Rubicon Trail we just finished.

    You mean body damage?

    Mostly no...lol

My factory fender flares were a little dinged up from some big rocks. The new steel flares are narrower and have better angles to avoid rocks.

Skid plates and the side rocker armor take the lion share of the scratches.

There are definitely faster cars out there.. Cool thing about the scx10 platform is they work great and look very realistic. They are a ton of fun around camp or in the rocks while drinking beers with buddies.

    They have a huge following.

He's been too busy with racing and prepping for the Lucas series. We just finished a redesign on his Pro Lite body to make it look a little better, while still looking like a Jeep, but functioning as a race truck. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1426783796.219100.jpg

We're pretty dialed scx10 wise in the family. We have 5 to play with and we're building a course at my dads house in Havasu.
