Just a little color sanding :rolleyes before the Re-Gel & Cap with new Gauges, Headers and a trailer update if time allows before summer.
The work is being done by Chuck @McDonnell Marine in Castaic who did the gel work for SoCal Marine which is now in Havasu.
Sticking with a classic scheme all red with blue bands with a silver pin.

I look forward to following this thread. I need to find a gel coat place to do my 10 footer.

So the guys that did the gel-coat on the blue and white 20' Schiada at So Cal Speed and marine in Castaic are no longer there? They moved to Havasu?
I was thinking of using them because from what I saw on the thread it looked like they did a great job.

Yes same Glass guy, Chuck is now McConnell Speed & Marine in Castaic same location where SoCal was located. Chuck 818-216-9913

Mario & George of SoCal Marine moved to Havasu, they do rigging, motors, service everything. Mario 661-644-3177

Groper, is this the original Gel that Schiada sprayed? You don't see too many Schiadas with wild graphics like yours.

Yes, I asked lee about the Boat before I took the trek to look at it and he said it's what the customer wanted :eek
I overlooked the colors due to the rigging, motor and very low overall hours on the Boat. In reality it is less costly to change the color than it is to build a Carson Brummett motor :thumbsup

That's going to look great. I love that it was for sale a few months ago and now its getting redone into what you probably wanted in the first place. Add it to the list of all of our toys that we are way financially upside down on. The addiction continues. I just want to get the cup holder on my deck filled in. Unfortunately that would probably take 2 years to get done in Havasu.

Moving right along, the Silver Pins were shot last night and the Red & Blue with Blue Pearl will get shot today.
Then off the Trailer so the Chine down to the bottom can get sprayed Red.

I thought about that several times but there a few that are all red out there and the first question one would ask is "Was that Herbst old Bote" :grumble:
plus there are other gel colors on the inside on the floor and transom that I would have to deal with. I also wanted to stay with a "Classic Schiada" theme :thumbsup

Wow, you really get a sense of how thick gel coat is sprayed on at from those pictures of the red and blue over the silver pins.

Lots of sanding to come.

Wow, looking great! What a difference from the before pics.

Are you planning to re-shoot the white non-skid in white gel?

Thanks

Chuck told me that it was all the dust from wet sanding and it will clean up, Im fortunate that the Boat was always garaged and there really isn't any discoloration or stains on the non skid :thumbsup

Had to shoot the "NoN Skid" due to the old lime green pinstripe on the edge bleeding through after sanding :(
BUT at least the old stains that were left from covers or ? are now gone and the Deck looks new again :thumbsup

What type of material did they shoot the deck with?

Get with Marc on center caps for the wheels. He has some or has some made to fit with the hubs.

These center caps are different than the Torque Thrust 2 center caps. I still could get something made though if you need it to clear a bearing buddy

I stopped bye Friday and he was working on it and waiting for your trailer. I know your boat is his main focus to get done right now but it always takes longer than expected. It's gone from one of the ugliest I've ever seen to one of the baddest Schiadas I've ever seen and I haven't seen the trailer yet.

Can you show a couple more shots with the wheels and tires? I'm changing mine on my double axle Ellis and want to see how the 235/55 x 17's look. I didn't think I could go that wide on mine. Your boat and trailer combo will look amazing when done.

The Boat & Trailer were on their way to Bear to get the Bow Pad fabbed up.
The weight of the Boat should drop it down maybe a inch or more judging my the picture Nailhead took on the FWY.
Here are a few pic's that Vic sent me;
