I have done it many times.
It is a win win situation.
Guaranteed at least 25 HP

sounds right up there with 2FF's wammo plate and clocking spark plugs

On a 454 the cylinder is much smaller than the valve cut outs on the head and head gasket. This causes a blockage to flow as the fuel/air mixture comes out of the open valve. Same goes for the exhaust.
The bigger the cam lift the worse it gets.

ive got long exhaust tips currently that basically stick down under the water, just picked these up to hopefully get a little more sound out of it

bump, should have more updates next month..... as far as my jet, can a visual inspection tell enough? or does it really need to be torn down and inspected? Anything to look for in particular? didn't notice any issues before...
