The front entry of my house was real bland so I decided to surprise the wife when she got home from a business trip.
I had never done this kind of work before so I watched a few YOUTUBE videos and I was off to Lowe's. My neighbor has a tile saw which really helped out a lot.
I also stained the sidewalk (another first) and clear coated it to get that "wet" look. Thanks for looking.

Looks good and as stated does a great job of highlighting a very nice front door that seemed lost before:thumbup::thumbup:

Great improvement. How difficult was the stone work? Wife wants the fireplace redone.

Nice job! She must of been shocked when she saw it.:thumbup:

So many people rarely use the front door as they enter the home through the garage. How long did it take her to notice it?

Really nice. Add a hanging entry lamp & it'll be complete. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

It wasn't too difficult. Like I mentioned in my first post: I watched a few YOUTUBE videos. I kinda knew what look I wanted. I just got a 5 gal. bucket and my cordless drill and borrowed my neighbors mixer bit and he also has a tile saw. I just mixed up about a half a bucket at a time and laid the material out and started slapping the mud on and made sure to TRY to keep it level. I did most of it by myself. My neighbor got when I was at the top of the door and he was slapping the mud on and handing be the pieces. I started at 8 a.m. and was done by 2 p.m. the material cost about $750. Good luck. It isn't real hard. After all I did it. ;-)

OK AzGeo, I had a sliding glass door and I replaced it with French doors. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1444693226.596895.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1444693253.652930.jpg

French way ? OUI ? HA HA Having done some work around a few houses over the years, while not being a professional, I appreciate the process of 'thinking, planning, and then DOING' what Always seems like a good idea at the time, and then making it happen anyway ..........

The latest update. I took Pauls advice and changed the lighting on the front entry. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1445996563.381452.jpg

Next I added a gazebo by the pool. I saw them at SAMS club for $1800. I got the last one for $900. My brother and I put it up in half a day. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1446656449.885400.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1446656520.891053.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1446656540.675575.jpg

Did you do that French door conversion yourself?
