BOUGHT IT FRIDAY, WENT TO cal to get it, only 7000 miles:thumbsup 15,000 off msrp:thumbsup:cool

I took the ford e350 with a trailer to go get it... the ford has a 5.4 4 speed...with the chevy on the trailer...the ford went up cahone
at slowest 62 mph @ the 138, and had to back off the gas to keep it under 65 mph ,average mpg was just under 14 for the trip..

the trailer was a 14,000lb gvw...

the ford got between 17 and 18 on back and forth havasu trips,

I allready started on the chevy camper/overnite mods...pretty cool van,,,

i could easy live in one......:cool

some of features over the ford is ..bigger motor 6.0 , 6 speed, rear air controller for passengers
sliding side door, more passenger and driver leg room....coil spring front end.
rear doors open all the way with out the pins... rear windows open out on bottom , (nice for nap time)

for me this is the only way to tow....one ton van... with the wheels so close to the rear they never sway around,.. you can sleep in them, camp, side road sleep, full size bed
drink alittle too much, sleep it off... haul a ton of people to the launch ramp...
I just bought this 3500 chevy, got the bed in , now gotts to rim and tire it

After you get some miles on it give us a rundown on the driving impressions of Chevy vs. Ford.....I'd be interested.

Never really thought about how a short rear overhang would help with towing, great insight right there.

I like how the doghouse in the front isn't as big as vans of the past. That's the one thing I always hated about them.

Nice van Steve!! I will be interested in knowing if the power and milage will be as good as you are hoping. The 6-speed should be a nice change. :thumbsup

OTHER THING IS THE AMOUNT of people it'll haul

chevy is best of the two.. lots of passenger foot room...

i don't think it will as good as the ford..but ..6 speed should make the motor last longer,,the chevy ride is way better...:cool

Looks good. How do you like it? Was the swap from ford to chevy worth it? I haven't bought another van yet and you my friend have me thinking. So I called Larry @ full tilt/action vans and he told me Boulder Offroad makes kits for the GM vans. We sold our 04 ford e-series's and need to replace it.

Looks good with those wheels. Not a fan of the rasied white lettering but to each his own. :thumbsup

These vans that you have been getting are really making me think about my next tow vehicle. Right now I have a truck but was thinking of a small SUV but now really starting to think about getting a van.

got my wheels and tires..

OK, here's the deal so far;......6.. 6 speed gets around 13 mpg average...

the 6 speed has a nice gear spread.. so it never seems to work too hard...

I think the ford pulls the same weight with better mpg.... but the chevy will pull more weight

the van is real easy to drive compared to my crew cab hd ,it has the 8.1 Allison 5 speed with a 6'' lift,,...:cool
