I picked up a new DD this week as I noticed Toyota has a $2000 manufacturer rebate this month for remaining 2017 Yaris iA sedans. Take the rebate, not the 0% APR, the rebate saves you more money.

There are no changes for the 2018 model. These come fully loaded, the only option is transmission. I got a 6 speed manual 2017 for $16.3 out the door. The 6 speed auto is another grand. If you are looking for a small car, it is really killer. It has more tech in it than my CTS-V. This car is not a boring typical Toyota econobox. It is actually a Mazda 2/CX3 platform rebadged as a Toyota. It is really nice to drive and handles well. The interior is very similar to the Mazda CX3 crossover and really nice. It is rated for 32/40 MPG. Crash test results have high ratings as well.

It is getting lowered with new wheels and tires in the next couple weeks to get rid of the dorky stance. Pics to follow after that.

Cheaper than a new Smart car you were eying as a grocery getter.. and better in every way.

Don’t you have one of those $60k trucks? :)

My buddy commented he paid a little less than this for his 91 LX 5.0 off the lot.

In 07 I bought my last DD. It was a Yaris Hatchback, I paid $14.2k out the door I want to say. This thing blows it away for $2k more and 11 year later.

Buy a used Yaris for 3k instead.. seriously. Better car, way more room inside, the back seats fold flat and you can take it on a Costco run, and not just to get milk.

I’m selling mine tomorrow for $3500.

16.3K is considered cheap now...god I'm getting old.
It's brutally cheap.
We just bought one kid a new Nissan Sentra for $16.1 K and are slap happy.

07+ Yaris 3 or 5 door depending on the year. I think the 5 door came out in 10 or 11.

That is my old one below. It has the sliding, reclining, fold flat back seat. I’m 6’3 and there is so much room in the back my legs don’t even touch the front seat when it is all the way back.

Yea, your post about that Sentra and seeing the $2k rebate on these did me in LOL.

I broke my own rule and didn’t start with the fleet guy. But I hadn’t actually driven one yet, so I dealt with the lot guy.

The dealer I got this from had 7 2017s on Wed, they only have the 2 other manual trans ones left now.

They are making them better.
Peppy and fun to drive, solid and the tinny feel is gone with no squeaks nor rattles.

Also, they have the cars dialed in for their demographics.
No need for nav nor sirrus nor even a radio.
It’s bluetooth/USB cellphone Fed through a couple of swipe screens on the dash to quality speakers.
The kids are perfectly happy with that.
It’s how they roll now.

You’ll have to poke around and see what dealer has what. Miller Toyota in Anaheim has a black and white manual left.

Yea mine has no CD player. I didn’t even realize that until the next day. Stereo is pretty good. It has all the modern inputs and intergrates with a bunch of apps.

It is nav ready, you can buy the SD card for around $100 on Amazon, pop it in, and you have nav.

About 6 years ago Disney was filming out here and some of the studio Pinocchio’s stopped off at a local bar.

The cocktail servers were all big titted with faces like the map of Scotland.
Caught the attention of the Diz folks.

They all ended up in the Tavern scenes in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
They took their pay checks to Nissan and bought new Sentras. The grenading engine Sentras.

So when Nissan replaced the engines they Immediately traded them in on Toyotas.
So with that in mind we researched and the current Sentra motor has a good history.
Nissan has a really good, longer than most warranty too

Well I got my new daily driver dialed in. I got new wheels and tires on Black Friday, I lowered it a bit and tinted the windows.

I have some sway bars for it coming from Japan, but other than that it is about done. Car had been awesome so far. I have over 1500 miles on it. I may get a tune for it, that is supposed to be worth about 20 HP.

I get a "company" truck. Typically an F150 now. For fun I priced out a fairly loaded F250. It is almost $100k new now. My uncle is a retired logger or as I called him uncle tree killer. I bought his 1977 F250 king cab 4X4 that he bought new. Still had the invoice just over $5k new even in Canada. Inflation is a real bitch.........

I need a car for personal use. As my current truck is work use only insurance wise. Hence why I'm looking at Jeeps like an old CJ-7. But all the finance deals are tempting me to get a decent new car. Toyota does fit the bill nicely.
