I've read some boat articles about this bitchen LS based small block motor and would like to know if anybody out here has one in their boat. Seems like there are a lot of pros vs a typical big block engine.

Call Teague. They used to sell them, so they might have done data

They are good engines. They are small blocks though. I talked to Teague and he said they run good but don't have the low end a big block does. They sell 2 different models. A dressed up "bling" model, and a basic model. Performance numbers are the same it's a cosmetic upgrade. Teague uses their platinum drive or an imco SCX. I inquired about replacing my 496HO in my Howard Bullet with one of these and no one I called seemed really confident that it would be a huge success. It makes great power, and is substantially lighter than a similar big block with equivalent power ratings. I would like to try it with a platinum drive.

Great engine for sure.

565 ft lbs at 4400rpm. Compared to Merc 520/540 making the same torque at 3400-3600. The 565 being a little more ci makes 610 at 3600rpm.

Weight is 1k with drive vs Big Block 1200 lbs with drive.

Can also be paired with a factory XR.
