A buddy here in cheeseland is looking for a rust free, solid, not smashed to bits cj 7
Preferably bone stock. Doesn't have to be perfect, but a solid vehicle to start a restoration on.
Preferably early to mid 80's.
I've been checking out Craigslist in so cal, Vegas, Phoenix, etc...

If anyone knows the whereabouts of one, lemme know! We'd appreciate it!

Good luck finding one stock, and they are rediculously expensive if you do find one in stock condition. I check Craig’s Tucson & Phoenix every day for CJ5’s, I’ll keep an eye out for for your buddy. I know CJ’s pretty well and would gladly take a look if one shows up around Tucson.

For the same money, your better off with a TJ. There is a 2000 in the classified section. Seller is good.

My father wants one and so do I. Since in Washington State and British Columbia, you can drive on the forest service/logging roads, going off road is a big thing here. Check Seattle and even Vancouver, BC. Rust can be a factor but they don't use much salt here in the winter. Rarely snows in around surrounding Seattle, etc..... On the Canadian side the dollar is in your favor shopping wise.

Did a quick search for Seattle: https://seattle.craigslist.org/search/cta?query=jeep+cj+7

Oh Seattle being 2 hours from the Canadian border. They price most things to attract buyers from Canada.

I know where there is 2 (84,85) here in PA. Bone stock but someone has to die before they go up for sale.....

Feel free to search craigslist or whatever around Pittsburgh/tri state area. I will go look at anything for you guys. I know exactly what to look for to give a solid report...

I Picked up a somewhat clean 78 all steel body levi edition, lifted with a 258. My cousin owns it i can ask if he wants to sell, its been sitting in his garage since we brought it home.

I love cj’s, ain’t nothing like looking down that hood.....Here is the 85 i had, brought it to PA when i moved here from AZ. Not a speck of rust. I sold it not too long ago and regret it every day!
I own a ‘52 m38 currently but a cj will be back in the garage to keep my flat fender company soon enough....

If a super clean 1995 YJ is an option I have the one. Low mileage auto and air. Factory hardtop and doors with 1/2 doors as well. Not totally stock but nicely done. 4.0 fuel injected engine 4:10 gears. New tires and wheels. 78k miles.

I know where there is a 1976 CJ5 bone stuck except for a locker, a 2-4” lift and 32’s.

I’ll see if the old man wants to unload it

You can use the salvage title as a parts "vehicle" deal. Some vehicles at the insurance auction don't get branded titles in some states. Anyway, what's the budget? I'll pass on the ones I find.

Guy with the one I posted from l.a., says he won't sell to out of state. Probably thinks I'm a scammer. Fuq.

That looks to good to be true Hula, he may be the scammer. Maybe someone from here could approach him?
Looks cherry in the pics. I was on it quick.
Got a one line response.

Dunno man. Wondered if they missed a 1 in front of the price?

If you'd contact the seller, and go look at it, there'd be a few bucks in it. If it's a farce, dunno....

No money needed bud. I can hit the guy up but I’m heading to Parker this weekend to do some home repairs so it’ll be after I get back.

I'd be curious to see what the response would be if a "local" pinged him..
Lemme know here, or via pm..

More like no airbags kinda jeep.
I hear you. I just like giving the YJ TJ and JK guys shit... Those models became so popular EVERYONE drives them to the mall and back to the garage. Very capable, but just not the JEEP that I knew and grew up with. I'm a CJ guy all the way and have two in the backyard... just sitting there... until I have time to tinker wit them again. Good luck wit your search, but honestly the one from I believe Papa??? is what you are looking for. I was in AZ I believe, 304, auto, not modified beyond belief... I'll keep looking for it. He might have taken the add down.

Here is my CJ7 build I am working on right now. My dad bought it brand new in 1976. I took it all the way down to the frame. I am about 75% done right now.

Aj13: That is awesome. My CJ sat in that configuration for about 3 years in the garage. It was awesome the first time I got to fire it up and drive it back down the road again... until I realized my brake job probably wasn't the best:D If you're local to SoCal/Riverside area and need a hand from time to time let me know. Always a good way to get motivated again.

If we can find one, it will create at least 2 more threads. First will be yet another road trip, then of course the build thread.
