I haven't fired up my machines in probably a year.. Didn't have a reason too and been side tracked with the kids etc.

Well I broke the gates on my ranger and I couldn't find any tube clamps here locally. I talked to my Buddy Roy and as luck would have it he prototyped one for some offroad guy years back (30 years) and he had one. Only problem is it was a little bigger than what I needed.

Huge thanks to Anything Offroad here in Havasu. They not only fixed and strengthened the framed of my Ranger but welded this piece in for me this week so we could go off-roading all weekend.

So this morning I get up and I'm gonna put the bird on our rotisserie.. Well last year we cooked a big oversized bird on my other BBQ and it actually bent the skewer enough that it slipped out of the motor at one point. I vowed for that never to happen again..

So this year I used the smaller BBQ and a shorter stiffer skewer and figured I would be smarter than the average bear.

Anyhow I found this little clamp deal and it sure looks like that's to hold it in the motor, but it didn't clear a sheet metal edge on the BBQ. Grandpa says we need a little collar or spacer. No problemo..

It's amazing the uses you find for a mill and lathe when you have them. Every appliance in my kitchen has at least one machined piece to replace the plastic crap that broke.

Every once in a great while I think about selling all this shit and freeing up the garage space.. Then I punch myself in the nuts and say WTF!!!

Might be the first time GRADS has ever seen that :p
Very true. Blue collar working man isnt his type. He prefers them..... softer. Lol!
Ha! You guys crack me up. I've probably dug more ditches than anyone on this website. I've always said I've dug enough trenches to circle the world a few times.

Hey RD, did you know you can correct misspelled thread titles now? :D

Seriously, I enjoy your machining posts as they are usually solutions to everyday problems one might run into.

That makes a lot of sense, actually.

RD you must have 480/230 V 3 ph at your house to run the machines that's pretty cool.

Two things Ive always wanted to learn, welding and machine work. Ive been working on welding, bought a couple of welders over the last few years. Machine work is next......

We get that MAN/petty naturally with grit grime and hard work, once had a prick make a cheap shot about "my mechanics hands" at Bank party .... The wife restrained me just before I could shove him in the pool

Being a Street Sweeper never gets old.For many years our office was at our home.Occasionally customers or vendors had to come to the house. Not usual for them to ask "Who lives here". I have always lived in a gated community. We own the gate. Most have no idea how great it is cleaning up after them.Thanks.

Digging ditches with one of these doesn't count.

If this was a Go-Fly project, you'd mount a V-8 on it to turn that shaft and put a bird on it the size of an ostrich. Mufflers would be optional.:D
